Wow this place is getting slammed by bad reviews! I'm grateful we had a decent experience. My sister and I grabbed a couple seats at the bar after a filling meal at Ruth's Chris. The bartender was super attentive and was great at suggesting different drinks for us. She also made delicious drinks! We were there for a few "chocolate... More

As with most of the Town Center places, I just use the bar and have appetizers. I have been going here with my wife for years but never has it been a regular haunt. The food is quite good although limited in range. There is a large selection of beers to choose from, so two of the boxes are checked,... More

I moved to TC a few months ago. I used to go to Red Star a lot, because it's literally right outside my door. I've been there at least 10 times, probably for convenience sake. I guess I was just in denial about the horrible service. The only guy there who is ever nice or cares about anything is the... More

Extremely disappointing. We went for dinner with a group of 6 family members. When we arrived, there was a very large party at the bar having a private event, so I was glad they seated us in the dining room right away. It was happy hour, I was looking forward to ordering some less expensive drinks and half price appetizers.... More

Went during the day. Not many people so I expected a great meal instead the food was all dry and wasn't seasoned at all. The plates had greasy finger prints from where the cook held the plates. It is obvious they don't care about anything. Even the leather seats were all ripped up. Will never go again.

Seated right away for a 6:30 reservation and food/drink orders were taken promptly. Waited over an hour for food and appetizers came about 2 mins. before the food, but only because we asked for them. We had 14 people, 5 dishes were incorrect and had to be taken back. The veggies looked like they were pulled out of the trash... More

Took the chance of having a drink and something to eat at Red Star taven in Virginia Beach this past Wed night. Let me first compliment you on how beautiful the atmosphere was. My son and I sat at the bar and was after a lengthy wait of over 10 minutes served Our first and only beer. I asked for... More

The food is okay but tending to the heavier "leave you bloated feeling" type of dishes. Given the other great restaurants in the Town Center area, I'm just not seeing this as the place of choice. However, if you like to talk loud, eat a lot and just hang out with people, this place would be perfect.

Prices were not bad. They had a variety of American food and seafood, jambalaya, burgers, chicken, nachos, etc. The layout was pretty kick [-] and I met a bunch of co-workers for drinks and a meal. Plenty on tap, good drink prices, and a fun atmosphere. It's a chain but there are not too many locations around the country.
