Great Locals Seafood Restaurant a few blocks from the ocean

We met a high level Va Beach city employee who told us this is the local's place for seafood, and he was right. Not the fancy inside you expect as a tourist, everyone seems like a regular, paper placemats with ads, but the freshest fish and shellfish dinners we could possibly ask for. We've... read more

The restaurant had little atmosphere ,but the menu was basic diner food and the seafood was very good. Also during the middle of the week they had very good dinner specials. The seafood was fresh and cooked very well.

I am so glad the hotel desk man told us about this place. I would not have found it otherwise. It is truly a great meal. We had the lobster, crab and these really big shrimp. It was exactly what I was looking for, a great seafood meal. The wait staff were great and accommodating. The prices were reasonable. I... More

Had dinner there based on a recommendation from an UBER driver. You would never stumble upon this place, you really would have to know it was there. Very old, which is fine, not much atmosphere, dark, no music, older furniture. Oysters roc were pretty good, nice size and tasty. Entrees were seafood platter that were nothing special. Fried, overcooked and... More

We ate there for dinner 6/3/2015. Very disappointing experience. Our seafood platters were horrible. Way over cooked. Very dry and hard. Fish had no flavor at all. Terrible oysters. What a waste of $60.00. Turned our stomach off on this place. We had planned on going for breakfast the next morning.....But no thank you. We will never return. Have they... More

Nick's is where we always go for breakfast the first morning of our annual visit to Va Beach. It's a great little place that caters to locals. My husband loves the creamed chipped beef and I always order something that includes the country sausage. These are the most delicious sausages ever! Prices are decent too.

This is one of those hole in the wall places that you walk into and wonder if you are in the wrong place. Very very casual. Outdated diner feeling. Feels a little seedy. Very little effort seems to have gone into decor and general dining room upkeep. That said, it means you can show up right off the beach and... More

This is a locals place, although it's in the heart of the Beach. Their crab in butter is the best I've ever had - large lumps of crabmeat with never any shell just cooked in butter - no seasoning, no spices, just crab as it should be. Wine is OK. If it's in the winter and they have collards, love... More

I have been coming to VB for many years and had never heard of this place. I heard about it from another guest at the hotel. It is off the beaten path and caters to locals, but it is terrific. I went on a Monday and had their Monday night special, Crab meat in butter with two sides for $13.95.... More
