get the fried mozzarella.

If you get only one thing, get the fried mozzarella. This is what cheesey dreams are made of - one big block of fried mozzarella covered in sauce. It is heaven. Their other dishes are fantastic! It is our go to italian place. Absolutely love it!

We went to Zia Maries after our first choice (a totally different NY Deli) was closed, but was not disappointed, at all. A pleasant atmosphere, great food and over the top service (Alli). We had Caesar salad and shared (the portion was that big) the stuffed eggplant. It was excellent. There is no menu. All the 'menu' items are written... More

I really liked this place on a recent first visit. Tucked away down a street you would never know it was there. What I liked was there were few dishes to choose from , too many American restaurants have pages and pages to wade through and you know the food is not so fresh. They don't do pizza so don't... This is a very pleasant little restaurant that offers good Italian food and is a very pleasant change from the Italian chains. Ingredients are fresh locally sourced and pleasingly put together. Good value

Went here for a Birthday celebration. The atmosphere is lively and depending on where your seated can be kind of noisy. The appetizers were excellent as we had the Portobello Mushrooms and the fried Mozzarella split between 4 people. For entrees, amongst the four we two had the Veal Parmesan and one had the Shrimp Alfredo and another the Veal... More

This is a delightful Italian restaurant, off the tourist path. We chose from the special wines and great beer menus and started with an appetizer of the roasted garlic with goAt cheese. This is a must, which is closely rivaled by the portobello mushroom. For dinner we each chose a different dish, and all were amazing. Veal parmesan, spinach lasagna,... More

Went to Zia Marie for the first time tonight. Everything was fantastic! The roasted garlic and goat cheese appetizer started us off and man was it incredible. The cheese hot and bubbly, the garlic smooth and flavorful, add peppers and olives and Bam! Caesar salad was lightly dressed and fresh. Shrimp fradiablo was spicy and filling. Eggplant parmigiana was beautiful... More

Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen but Zia Marie really stands out for their consistently great food, prices and service. We are locals in Virginia Beach and have been coming to Zia Marie for years. Mondays are half price wine night and we usually order the portabello mushroom appetizer, the eggplant parmesan and the linguine with red clam sauce.... More

Was excited to return to this restaurant after our first trip was so good! Started off with fried mozzarella, very good! Had 2 salads, only offer 2 kinds of dressing, which was ok for me, but my guy likes ranch! Ordered the stuffed seafood shells, it was ok, but not impressive, shells were just lukewarm, sauce and cheese on top... More

as you can read from others that have already reviewed this restaurant. Six of us went for dinner on a Saturday eve without reservations. It was very noisy while we were there and we couldn't decide why as the restaurant was not filled. We needed to ask for drink refills also and our server was not very attentive. I gave... More
