Friendly family Greek restaurant

I went their in January for the first time. It was a nice friendly restaurant. I ordered the Morusaka (mashed potatoes on top, layered eggplant, zucchini, season ground beef and be'chamel sauce) with 2 sides. I got fries and Greek style green beans. I liked everything I got. The prices was ok... read more

I liked the calamari. My main dish was okay. My date like her dish. It was the first time I have been there. Overall a good experience. I will go back

Well, really not much to say except the service was average. The food was average at best and really overpriced for such generic tasting items. Not really a premium ingredient kind of place. And extremely surprised to see a menu with super limited items for vegetarians. Even our waitress commented on it. Disappointing that even grape leaves were stuffed with... More

How can I begin? On 28 Dec 2015, my wife and I had reservations at Ammos. We showed up slughtly early and where seated. We showed the waiter a print out of a coupon sent by ammos and that's where it began..... 20+ minutes later, after several trips back to our table (only giving us water and not even taking... More

Mike, First and foremost I would like to apologize for the bad experience you had at Ammos the other evening. Our policy for the offer you wanted to use for a free birthday dinner meal is to show the server the actual email. Since all you provided was a tiny picture of an email it was hard to determine the... More

Christmas Eve, and we're one of two couples there at 5pm. Quickly seated and waters brought out. Our server was friendly and helpful with the questions we had about the food. Started with the Lemon Soup. Wow. Perfectly in between creamy and broth-like. Not too thick and not to thin. The flavor was great, just lemony enough without being over... More

The restaurant is clean and comfortable. That the good part. We went for lunch and it all disappointed. The waitress was apathetic and non-attentive. We started with the flaming cheese. It was a small triangle of cheese and did not come with any bread. It was not allowed to flame long enough and was hard and cold. Also, we were... More

We've only been for lunch and it doesn't seem to get too busy. Service is always good. The food is excellent! Really enjoy the hummus and the cheese spread! The building is a little difficult to find the first time. When we want greek, we'll drive from newport news to Ammos.

Loved this place. Went for dinner and loved how authentic it was. Great appetizers and many entree choices. Loved the saganaki (served flaming table side) and the grilled chicken platter. The tiziki dip too.

My wife and I went last Friday night for dinner. She had the gyros plate and I had the pork chops (Brizola). The gyros plate was OK. The gyros meat was a bit dry and served with a greek salad and pita crackers? That was a bit odd. Never had that before. I think regular pita would have been better.... More
