If I compared the cost to service ratio of this catastrophe, the restaurant would owe me money. The food was mediocre at best and the service pathetic. We had every intention of ordering two bottles of wine and make a long evening out of it, but settled for one and couldn't wait to leave. Empty glasses pilled up on the... more

I dined at Salacia mid-week. Entire experience was well worth it. The salads were amazing and I was happy to dine in a quiet atmosphere without screaming babies. Why you would want to dine at a fine dining establishment with a baby is beyond me. Was expecting an adult evening and was over joyed no toddlers running about. Everything was... more

We booked this place and were expecting to drop about $500 on dinner / wine for 4 and a baby. They told us we couldn't dine their because they don't accept children under 8 years old. In a vacation area filled with children on VA beach you won't take my money? Ruth Chris' was more than happy to take my... more

Went to Virginia Beach for our anniversary. Went to Salacia for dinner our second night there. After reading some of the other reviews, I was a little hesitant. Being from NY, I have eaten in some very good restaurants, I can be a little picky. This place surpassed my expectations aand is probably the best place I have eaten in... more

My wife and I were staying at the Hilton and wanted a cozy place to dine. We checked out the menu online and liked what we saw, so we booked a reservation at the same time we reserved our room. I had the lamb, she had the pork. The food was fabulous. We ordered the bacon-wrapped jumbo shrimp appetizer with... more

I ordered the kobe beef medium rare and it came back blackened and done. My wife ordered the grouper and it was as bland as paper. Not worth the time to ever go back. It is apparent that there is no chef of quality at this place. The server was also very poor since he never came back to ask... more

Having recently returned to the UK after a trip up the Eastern Coast I can honestly say that my steak was of good quality. Certainly I had booked a table on the terrace but found it to be lovely and quiet. I ate in the restaurant on 30th July. The waiter was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. I did... more

I have lived in Va Beach for 37 years, was trapped into this place by friends. Not romantic in any way shape or form. Expensive and the food was not equal to the price. I was shocked at the way the salad looked, not good. The steak was nothing special. Steaks are 35 dollars then you have to order sides... more

We went on the Saturday night of Memorial Day weekend. The hotel was swamped... Catch 31 the lesser restaurant was swamped... and the bar... was deluged. There were long waits for both... but we were taken almost immediately to a table in Salacia. I was a little nervous that it was not ranked higher here... but good experiences at Catch... more

Arrived on time and we were seated promptly, but other than one drink order our orders had not been taken forty five minutes later! One gentleman was ready to walk out when a waiter (the only one in the restaurant) finally took the orders. The Caesar salads were not edible, a hand full of Romaine CUT in very small pieces... more
