The best meat and cheese appetizer I had ever had along with oysters on the half shell, not to mention the mac and cheese that you cant describe and the best service (Erin)... It was a bday celebration and when we arrived, the birthday boy had his name on the menu what a cool touch. We can't wait to go... More

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this restaurant! Not only is the food amazing, but they are focused on involvement with the local community, through service and helping local farms. Prices are a little high, but you are definitely getting what you pay for. Come expecting an amazing meal in a fantastic upscale beach atmosphere. Reservations recommended. I REALLY... More

food, service and ambiance very good. You can get the same meal at several comparable restaurants for less money. Very nice wine list.

Absolutely loved this place. My filet was like butter and please don't even let me start on the roasted pepper tomato soup..... like a fond memory I still think about that soup, can feel its velvety smoothness along with the slight smoke of the pepper and creamy finish if I try hard enough and trust me I do. The only... More

I really enjoyed Terrapin. This restaurant is not designed for children, but I indicated that we would have a 6 year old with us on my Open Table reservation. When they called to confirm they told me that they did not have a child's menu but they could usually make kids happy with their mac and cheese. We brought along... More

The staff is extremely gracious and the atmosphere was very relaxing! I had the four course sampler. The carrot ginger soup and beet salad were mouth savoring. I actually wanted to lick the bowl that my soup was served in. My date and I felt that the main course fell flat...they were bland (swordfish and ???? So blah I can't... More

Service here is second to none without being too formal and stuffy. Food was excellent and well presented. Toilets were spotless. Quite expensive though.

We enjoyed the wine, a local Virginia Cabernet Franc, the appetizers of oysters and cauliflower soup, the entrees, soft shell crabs and scallops. The room was pleasant as well as the service. We ate here for a business dinner and plan to return on our next trip to Virginia Beach.

We went their for Virginia beach restaurant week and it was ok but chaotic. We tried again beginning on may and it was a much better experience. It's a small restaurant and very noisy, the menu is small and eclectic. We started with cauliflower soup and grill asparagus, both were amazing. For main course we took the pasta and the... More

Terrapin is No. 1 in Virginia Beach? IMPOSSIBLE! Chain eateries offer more interesting selections than Terrapin, and we don't dine in those places either. It's a nice looking place, and they welcome you warmly. In the 6-8 times we have stopped in over the last year we have NEVER encountered an even remotely friendly bartender. They must recruit them from... More
