So I was at the Raven 20 yrs ago when I was a teenager with my parents on vacation. I remembered it by name- so it had to be good. Well, my hubby and I tried to visit the Raven for lunch (2pm) not exactly peak lunch time. We waited 5 minutes to be seated. We then get seated next... More

We have dined at the Raven on two previous occasions and found it to be an outstanding dining experience. We visited the restaurant on 7/7/2014 and seated in the non-smoking indoor area. Unfortunately no one bothered to tell us that the air conditioning for this seating area was broken. The food was excellent as usual but the room was sweltering... More

My family who lives here recommended this place to us and every time we have eaten there, the food has been great. They have a kid friendly menus and the service is wonderful. I will be back.

This restaurant is not an average place to eat. If you don't like the "chain" of fancy style, and look for something a bit "grittier", this is it. The food is spectacular, and you feel welcome by the very personable staff.

The Raven is the ONLY sidewalk rest in the beach area. You can sit in the outside patio area and see a full mile down the strip in both directions! It has been owned and operated by locals since the 60's, and has become an institution at the beach. Relatively unchanged for decades, it oozes ambiance and atmosphere. And, the... More

This is a terrible restaurant. Terrible staff, terrible food, all around terrible service. Couldn't get anything right. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Will never eat here again

We ate at the Raven for lunch on Saturday, Mar. 22nd. We had asked at our hotel (Boardwalk Resort Hotel) if they could recommend a good place to get burgers and sandwiches and they suggested this place. Yes it does have a bar feel, but also family friendly. We ate in the sun room at the front of the restaurant... More

This was our first visit to Va Beach, and I understand the Raven bar is an icon of the beach community. It probably is a great place for drinks with friends, but for my family of 4, the dining experience was not so good. We started with Mozzarella sticks which tasted like they were our of a frozen food box,... More

I am a long time customer although there are often years between visits. I had the grilled tuna sandwich and it was good. My friend had the club with onion rings and he enjoyed them. I usually have a burger because they are usually good, but was a little adventurous this time. The wait staff was attentive. My ice tea... More

The server was not particularly interested in our dining pleasure. Bloody Mary's historical good were bitter and yuck. Our shrimp cocktail was five shrimp thrown on a wilted leaf of lettuce served with a cocktail sauce container with a pull off lid. Although we have been long time lovers of the Raven the love affair may be over.
