We were visiting family in the Virginia Beach area and got the urge for authentic Japanese food. Fortunately we found Daruma's Japanese Restaurant. Fabulous food, wonderful service and nice ambience. This restaurant deserves a visit. Daruma features new ownership with an excellent Japanese sushi chef, Hiro, and his wife Kathy who prepares an excellent Thai menu. Where else in Virginia Beach can you enjoy nice atmosphere, excellent Japanese food, delicious Thai food, and the best sushi in town. Daruma's Thai buffet lunch with sushi appetizers is one of my favorites. more

Superb dining atmosphere with the best customer service in the beach. Nice clean environment. I have been stationed in Japan for the past 5 years and this is the best sushi place outside of Japan!!! Note of advice. Pls. whatever u do, do not eat at "FUJI JAPAN" I got food poisoning there. more
