. . . when you run a seafood restaurant in a tourist town. Here's how I rated it: Ambiance: 4; Service: 4; Food: 4. Here's how it went down. I started by asking to be seated. 20 to 30 minute wait, I was told, but "you are welcome to wait in the bar." Nice little bar, well stocked. Bartender was... More

this place is a bit hard to find because it doesn't have a big sign or lots of coupons, but it's a secret worth finding - our food was amazing! the server was super nice, we didn't have to wait long, and they had their own on-site parking. Everyone should order the lobster fondue and scallops barca.

People line up outside before they open, so you would expect the food to be good. WRONG! I order the She crab soup and there was only 1 lump of crab in a bowl of cream broth. The stuffed flounder was served in a paper bag not puff pastry, that caused the flounder to get over cooked and only a... More

First night in Virginia Beach and stumbled into Tautogs. Sat at the bar, visited with the bartender while watching some football .. the had a terrific dinner .. potato chip encrusted maui with red potatoes... absolutely delicious. This is a great find with great food, reasonable prices and a very comfortable atmosphere.

every time we come to va beach, we eat a tautogs! the food is awesome, fresh local, seafood and meats! the service is exemplary! they have very friendly servers, and also have a young gentleman busing tables, who is very well mannered and helpful! but mostly, the food is great! they have people lined up waiting until late hours.

The food here was excellent. She crab soup was the best we had all week. The scallops dish was phenomenal!! All the other fish dishes were excellent as well!! Service could have been better. Should never have to wait for drinks esp in an amazing place like this. Will still def return!

Great menu. We had the she crab soup and tile fish apps which were both fantastic. Scallops in puff pastry and shrimp and grits. Also awesome. One of the best wine lists I've seen. Service was again awesome. Thanks Don. I had to review my bill because I figured they missed something. Will definitely be back

I was somewhat skeptical of this restaurant after reading the reviews. Too often a restaurant is a let-down when I come in with high expectations. However, I had one of the best meals I can remember at Tautogs. I thought since we were coming after Labor Day the crowds would be smaller, but when we got there shortly before they... More
