OMG!

I grew up in Florida, I've eaten fish all of my life and I'm turning 61 in a couple of months. I detest fried fish of any kind, fish was not meant to be fried. I ate at Tautogs for the first time on a week long visit to VA Beach. I had the potato chip encrusted mahi-mahi with the... read more

After reading the reviews of this place, we had to try it while we were in Virginia Beach. The food was delicious- I had the catfish, and my husband had the shrimp and grits (which was really good). Had to wait 30 minutes to be seated, though, and our table was sticky, but overall I'd recommend the place to others.

Visited here recently while vacationing on the beach. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. Menu has lots of choices. She-crab soup was tasty! The PEI mussels were deliciously prepared. Our entree was the Special of the night, which was Blue Crab with Swiss chard and risotto. This plate was a very tasty combination, although the crab was a bit too... More

We came here at the recommendation of the concierge at Oceanaire Resort. When we got there we realized we had eaten there before many years ago on our last visit to VA Beach. We were seated right away and the server was very courteous and friendly. The She Crab soup and crab cake dinner was amazing. I definitely recommend this... More

Tautog' s is a great little place where you can get a variety of interesting dishes. They were quite accommodating when we wanted to order various small plates to try. The she-crab soup is about the best in the area, steamed mussels prepared 2 different but equally tasty ways. The steamed vegetable platter with hollandaise sauce was quite large and... More

I visited tautogs several times a year. So this past Saturday night 16 May my wife and I went with another couple arriving around 5:15 to ensure we got seated at the 5:30 opening. We were 3rd in line and seated promptly when the doors opened. We order 2 appetizers which took a while and we should have suspected something... More

Though it can be busy when the weather gets nice, it is still a local go-to spot. The wait times are told upfront, but you can squeeze into the bar area for a cocktail and appetizer while you wait. The patio seating is heated and enjoyable. The Stuffed Flounder in a Bag and Scallops Barca are my favorites and my... More

It was worth the 30 min wait as our dinners were terrific and the service unrushed and attentive. We loved the mussels, stuffed flounder and tuna dishes. This place is a winner.

The locals recommended this restaurant. The food was exquisite! The restaurant atmosphere was ecletic in a cottage. It was expensive, but worth it for a treat, my birthday!

Secret Gem of the city. The service was great, food was excellent and the atmosphere was very romantic. If you go please get the shrimp and grits. It's amazing.
