Great Service, Great Food, Great Location

I have not ventured into Tautogs in about 10 years but being a local and living close I really wanted to try it again. They have been closed for the pre season cleaning and last night I got my shot. They were slammed as they should be. We got a table right away, drinks were on point ,if you like... read more

This restaurant is OK but not more. I had the spinach and artichoke dip. The dip was less than average tasting and the tortilla chips served with them were out of a bag. I must have received the bottom of the bag as most of the chips were small pieces. For a main dish I had shrimp and grits. The... More

There's a line at this restaurant because it's not bland, cookie cutter food in a setting without personality. Shrimp appetizer was plentiful and good. Crab dip was delicious. Flounder in a bag was fine. Waiter was inattentive. Very inattentive.

Are you searching for an energetic bar scene; lively, if not noisy, atmosphere; and, the spot that the locals flood into, sometimes standing-room-only at the bar? Do you like spicy, highly salted seafood with strong flavors? Then, Tautogs is for you. This is where you sit down for a fine dining experience. It is not where you go to fill-up.... More

Went with a group of people (some rabid fresh fish lovers since we are landlocked the rest of the year), had a 45 min wait - most certainly NOT worth it. The place is cramped as can be (if you are in a wheelchair - or have trouble navigating tight spaces, this is NOT the place for you.). I think... More

We've been several times here, but never wrote a review. Therefore it's time to share our experience made with the audience here. Every single visit was really outstanding, very nice staff and excellent fish and seafood dishes. My favorite is the blackened tuna, but also the catch of the day was very good. Unfortunately they don't accept reservations for two,... More

We had a fabulous meal at Tautogs. Ordered a second half-dozen oysters when the first plate was gone in a flash. Wonderful fish baked in paper bag. A charming porch setting in an old house. Loved it!

Lively place, clearly a regular for the locals. The food was outstanding in flavor and portion size. The parking attendant was very helpful.

the food was tremendous. Very cozy; food presented like that in a very expensive restaurant. Prices reasonable. Large wine list. Service excellent. Great menu. Recommended by desk clerk at the Hotel. We would have definitely passed it by as it looks like an old house. I would highly recommend if in the area

We went there on a Tuesday night and the place was packed by 6:30. Not too bad for a 40 degree night in March. All four of us had amazing entrees. I wish I could remember the waitresses name as she was the best. This place is an old house converted to a restaurant. Very unique. Not your everyday chain... More
