This local Mediterranean café and market is close to home, but even if it wasn't I would make the trip! Their ingredients are always fresh, and their menu is varied. The garlic dip they serve with their French fries is to die for! I can recommend their lentil soup, their chicken soup, their hummus, their falafel salad, their kabobs, their... More

Having known George Azar personally and watching him grow this business for many years before his untimely death, I am saddened every time I try to return because of the poor quality of the food and the general inattentiveness of the staff. It has become like an abandoned child who continues to exist but with out the love and attention... More

I have been to this eatery more than once on my visits to Virginia Beach and it has always been cosistently good.

Awesome flavors and the menu fits everyone in the family. Lots of great vegan and vegetarian choices as well as great lamb and chicken dishes. The market has wonderful ingredients that can be hard to fine. The Fattoush Salad is my favorite. Order the fries and garlic sauce - crazy good!

Love the gluten-free Mediterranean pizza, and the Ugly Duckling dessert (a tahini-stuffed date dipped in chocolate, it's hard to imagine the amazing bliss of that thing until you taste it.) The lentil soup is delicious too. This location is a little tricky to find but worth the search! (As some reviewers have mentioned, the food is better than the service,... More

I have been going to Azar's for lunch and dinner for years. It isn't fancy but the food is delicious and the servers are really nice. I understand that prices need to go up over time but our favorite meal nearly doubled! What used to come together in a sampler platter now has to be ordered individually so that it... More

Went here while visiting family and heard it was a great place. Food was ok, not the best I've ever had. The waitress was also very pushy for us to order and not very polite. When she brought the appetizer, she dumped water all over the table. While bringing the entrees, she forgot the sides. One member of the family... More

Four of us enjoyed Beef and Chicken kabobs at this pleasant restaurant, in a seperate nicely furnished room apart from the food market. The kabobs were served on a platter with a 6" skewer of meat, another skewer of veggies (tomatoes, onions, small yellow peppers), a small Greek salad, and a very small-cut section of Naan. Reasonably priced, the fare... More

Azar's is fresh and just plain good eating. :) The Virginia Beach location beats the Norfolk location hands down...though small it's totally worth it and their hummus is amazing. One of my favorite places to eat in Virginia Beach.

Azar's has three locations -1 in Norfolk near Old Dominion University and two in Virginia Beach. The Virginia Beach Hilltop Shopping Center is the newest and has a contemporary look with Middle Eastern style dishes. The Fatoush Salad is a favorite for its special dressing. We enjoy the wraps for lunch or if you want more get a kabab plate... More
