We have been eating at Steinhilber's for over 40 years. The service and quality of food have remained tops in our book. Some of the staff have been there that long as well. Family run. Best shrimp in town.

This has always been one of my parents favorite places to eat in Va Beach. Even after their favorite waiter retired they enjoyed dinners here from time to time. Well good service did not retire with that waiter. I called hoping to get a gift card for my mother's birthday, which was that day. Things had been crazy, and I... More

This restaurant is known for its fried shrimp and the accolades are well deserved. The special feeling is from a time past. The family restaurant has been around a long time, It is a nice change form even the best chains. All of this comes at a high price. It is a special treat for a special occasion.

This place has a high reputation and higher prices. We find it OK, but over-rated. Go there only when out with others who insiste on this place.

Super fresh food, extensive wine list, excellent service, reservations expected, plan to spend about $80 per person at the least. Well worth it for a special occasion like an anniversary or milestone birthday.

We booked online for 715 table, and and arrived on time, but then were ushered into a 'corridor' bar to wait along with a dozen other people! Bar staff stressed, it was look after yourself until they were ready to seat us - one more person to help in the bar would have made all the difference. Once we were... More

This is a very pricey place to eat; however, my husband and I both had a very pleasant dinner. The She-Crab soup was OUTSTANDING!!! Me & my husband have started trying the She-Crab soup at whatever restaurant we eat to rank them. Steinhilber's is right there at the top! Rudee's ... not so much.

As frequent visitors to Va. Beach, we have always looked forward to our Steinhilber's dinners. From start to finish, our latest visit was ordinary beyond compare. The balsamic vinegar dressing had a slimy consitency; my fish entree was the most unappetizing presentation I have ever seen. And what's with the zwieback crackers? Mediocre service... and a high price ($75+ for... More

This is the sort of place you'd go with your parents or some other old people. The shrimp and fantastic, the rest of the menu is fine. The setting is very pretty and the building is cool, but there really isn't much more.
