Friends told us about this spot so we decided to stop in for lunch on the way to the airport. Wow! It was DELICIOUS and presented beautifully. Very helpful wait staff. I can only say good things about this little gem. Can't wait to go again soon.

We arrived right at opening (11am) on Saturday in April. There was already a line waiting. We ate indoors because it was cool. The place is as advertised. Service is fantastic. Knowledgeable, accommodating, friendly and professional. The food was spectacular. We had the Chicken Salad sandwich, the fresh Rockfish (the parsnip cream sauce is terrific). We also had Carrot Cake... More

My family stopped here while en route to the Outer Banks, after hearing about this place on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. I am so glad we stopped, everything is made from scratch including the bread and they have a chicken coop, where all the eggs come from. Also very convenient to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and easy to get... More

Our first attempt to eat at the Leaping Lizard Cafe, without reservations, was unsuccessful. Fortunately the next evening, with reservations, was successful. With about eight tables inside, and a couple of seats at the counter (outdoor patio was closed due to some tears in the plastic "roof') the cafe is cozy and unpretentious. No tablecloth, plastic glasses, paper napkins and... More

This is my favorite place in Virginia Beach. I brought my husband this time and he agreed. He's dieting so had a salad with Rockfish, which he raved about. He said the oysters he had for an appetizer were the best he's eaten in years. I had Beef Tenderloin. I can't say enough about it. I said "medium rare" and... More

I love the crab cakes when in season. Since food is seasonal and local... Also really special is the chocolate cake/genosh (spelling?) It's spectacular when they have it. Homemade bread YUM (not sure bar scene since non drinker so I can't comment on that. I would call for hours since their hours vary. They are worth it!

I love this place. The specials are always inventive and delicious. In nice weather, the outdoor seating is bliss, although the free range chickens are a bit much for the non-farmyard lovers in the group. One of my very favorite go to places.

It finally happened. For the first time in over five decades, I found myself in a place where my vegan daughter, lactose/gluten-intolerant bride and carnivorous son could order from several choices and each of them ultimately enjoyed their meal as fully as I did. From the appetizers (we had the hummus and sampler plates) to the entrees (among those chosen... More

Food was good, service was great and there's a cute store attached to it. They make their sandwiches on fresh homemade bread.

We met the owners at Leaping LIzzard at another restaurant late one night and decided to try this place for a long Sunday brunch. We were catching up with local friends and had a great time outside on the back porch in 40 degree weather. Their enclosed patios with heaters were very toasty and made our experience very laid back... More
