I found this restaurant through a hotel restaurant guide while in VA Beach for 2 days. I'm vegetarian, and was looking for something tasty & wholesome. This restaurant did not disappoint - a real treat for veggies and carnies alike! Small dining area, but plenty of menu options - the expected Mediterranean fare, plus several "chef specials". I loved the... More

We came to Virginia Beach on vacation. We checked Trip Advisor before we left and we saw the great reviews for Baladi Cafe and decided to try it one night for dinner. Even though the reviews were great, it was even better then we expected. The owner was very welcoming and helped us decide what to order. Everything we had... More

I stopped here for lunch. The cafe is quite small and I ate outside. I had the lamb wrap sandwich and iced tea. The wrap was very carefully prepared and the lamb was medium rare as I requested. It was delicious. The tea was unique with an unsual blend of herbs and very refreshing. I will be eating here again... More

Great falafel sandwich - one of the best we have had. The Sabanekh (spinach pie) was wonderful, especially with the spicey pepper sauce. The grape leaves were fresh made, not out of a can and delicious. The owner (Khaled) was friendly, helpful and interesting to talk to.

We found this place through tripadvisor and are so glad we did. As other reviewers have said, the owner was extremely friendly and helpful. This cuisine was foreign to some in our party and the owner was both helpful and patient offering suggestions, etc. Everything we had brought oohs and aahhhs from the group. I don't recall everything that everyone... More

Khaled, the chef owner, makes a grouper dish to die for. His grilled chicken is exquisite! I love the fresh salads, his soups are great. The food is made with love. Always attention to detail. Rumor has it, they are planning to expand the restaurant and get a liquor license. I ate at Azar's across the street last week and... More

We wanted something healthy, different and yummy on our last night at Virginia Beach and we found it at BALADI! The place is small, but they do have some outdoor seating. The owner was cooking the night we were there and was SUPER nice and sweet, he came up to talk to us and seemed eager to please. He even... More

My wife and I have been coming to Virginia Beach twice a year for about ten years now and as vegetarians have always come up short in regard to restaurants. Not only do we want vegetarian we want healthy as well. (Cheese pizza on white flour is vegetarian but not healthy). Finding BALADI MEDITERRANEAN CAFE is a dream come true.... More
