Description: Local favorite that is great for visitors as well. Great breakfast right on the water at the Rudee Inlet. Was recommended to us by some locals and overheard at least 2 other people telling other visitors to go there during our 5 day stay. Great lunch and dinners also that feature daily blackboard specials. All desserts are homemade. Seafood, fresh meats, produce and dairy are delivered fresh everyday.

I joined a few friends for beers and finger food at Big Sam's last night and had a great time. I usually don't go to the resort strip in the summer since it's so crowded but was coerced this time by friends visiting from out of town. I arrived a little late and my friends already had a table but... More

We absolutely love their twice-cooked wings, especially during happy hour. Great smoky flavor! Laid back breach atmosphere where you can hang out on the deck & drink a PBR while you wait for your table! This place is always packed but the tables move quick! We go back again and again!

Last week I went there with my family and asked for a table of 4. We were told it was a 90 minute wait ... before they lost power and said it would be 30 minutes additional wait (had to relight the pilot light and start over). We consoled ourselves with drinks out on the deck (Orange Crush and Margarita... More

We visit Va beach often, and Big Sams is always our first stop. When we are in town for a week, we eat there at the very least, five times. Very consistent in quality and service. Worth any wait time. Enjoy a Lime-aid while waiting.

Our Inn keepers recommended Big Sams---with the caveat that it was not fancy and was very casual. The restauraunt is on a inlet and is super casual. Our waiter was friendly and funny. We ordered a combination of seafood and burgers...with their famous wings to start. The wings were GREAT! I would highly recommend them. The fried shrimp dinners were... More

Small joint but good food! Little pricey for offerings but definitely worth the visit. Had a bit of a wait on week night but staff was fast in moving tables in and out. Once seated the wait staff was very friendly, menu is limited offer seafood options as well as burgers and other menu options. Would visit again

A server at another restaurant told us to check this place out when we were on a quest for some local spots while in tons and I am happy she did! This place is great and the view is wonderful. Plus seeing their open kitchen was fantastic. Will return!

We ate here like we always do while on vacation. There is always a line and the wait is so worth it. I had the crabmeat omelet my wife had grandmas pancakes. Both of us so loved our meals. I did not get back for dinner this time. Just too many places to eat at.
