We ate dinner ate this restaurant in April. We had good food and excellent service. The crowd was lively and friendly. So when we returned to Urbanna last week, we looked forward to eating lunch at Something Different. The hostess told us to sit wherever we wanted. We sat at the table between the hostess table and the front door.Three... More

Visited here with two friends for lunch on a Sunday. Place was steady but not packed. They have a good menu for people who don't like oysters. :) The special was a pulled barbeque plate with one side. We all got that - meat was good, we liked their house-made vinegar style sauce. Two of us go the mac &... More

Wow, what a place. How I wish I could eat here every week. The menu was loaded with mouth watering choices. Unfortunately, a few of our selections were not available since they sold out and only serve the meats that they prepare themselves. That is not to say we didn't have a great lunch. Our waitress Scarlett reacommended the Tri-Tip... More

What could be bad about a quaint atmosphere and homemade food? This is our favorite restaurant (shame we live 7 hours away)! Excellent BBQ and the homemade adult ice cream is the best!

Went with friends for lunch and, WOW, what a taste treat! Located just off Main Street, in the quaint, but lovely, town of Urbanna, VA sits a restaurant called, "Something Different". Nothing here is ordinary. They offer hotdogs with apple butter and hot chocolate with chili peppers just to name a couple things. Peanuts with special spices are cooked on... More

We had to wait too long to be served. That said...the She Crab Soup was great! The atmosphere is lacking. This restaurant came highly recommended but just didn't live up to it's reputation.

A trip to Virginia is not complete without a trip to Something Different. Living in New Orleans, there is no shortage of good food that surrounds me but I will crave some of the items from Something Different year-round. My whole family is a huge fan of this restaurant and of the Gill family in general. We have been coming... More

My husband and I took our daughter to the river for the 4th for her to stay with friends. A neighbor recommended Something Different as a place for us to have lunch on the way back to a Richmond. What a find! We loved the atmosphere and the food was great. I highly recommend the Hot Brown sandwich with turkey... More

The atmosphere is great with a nice bar area and the staff is super friendly. I was so surprised by the Tri-Tip Beef dish I ordered. I am from the Mid-West and kind of snobby about my beef and was blown away by how good it was. Someone else ordered the beef brisket and it was delicious as well! I... More
