Always good

Nothing beats Dan's bbq. He is gone but certainly not forgotten. Great food and beer in the tiny slice of paradise called Urbanna.

We went by for a quick lunch, and we all enjoyed our choices. Some unusual offerings too; everything seemed fresh and well done. They also have live music occasionally.

I've a customer in this restaurant for around 5 years, and one thing I can tell you that has never changed is their wonderful and prompt staff and their consistently delicious food! My wife and I visit every time we are down in that area from Richmond, and have yet to be disappointed. After a devastating loss to the family... More

They catered our son's rehearsal dinner, we used to love their food, and we told everyone to go here because they had the best BBQ and ribs around. This is not true now since Dan Gill, the owner, died last year. My wife had a half rack of crusty, cold, and dried up ribs, my BBQ dinner was bland and... More

I am trying to figure out how you have come to the conclusion that you have, and I am certainly sorry that you feel the way you do. I want to be very careful not to take anything away from my father but I need to say this. Nothing has changed since my fathers passing, except we have not been... More

The waitress was super friendly and very attentive! We enjoyed the food and everything was really good and came out at a decent time. We ordered two bloody Mary's and honestly I've had better. It tasted like tomato juice with a hint of spice in it, then when we got our check they were $8 a piece!! With their "house"... More

Recently went here with friends during Christmas break. Had the Ribs which are among best ever tasted. Had a dry rub and smoked, too. Dont care much for the hoecakes but the others in the party raved about them too. REally interesting decor with fantastic history. Dont miss a meal here when visiting the middle peninsula of Virginia

Indifferent reception, dirty table, casual waiter who took my order and return later to advise "no salmon tonight". Finished my wine and left. Nice wine.

We only eat fish/seafood and this place rocked. Fresh oyster were sweat and served on a spoon. Fried oysters were tasty and not breaded to death. Crab Cakes with a whole lot of crab were spot on. She-Crab soup was perfect with just a hint of sherry. Good selection of tab and other beers. Save room for dessert and the... More
