Plain and simple- the seafood is not fresh despite the location near the Rappahannock river. My husband and I both had a seafood dinner and it was a waste of time. The food had been frozen at one point.

Not a fancy décor but not fancy prices, either! Great sandwiches and burgers; fabulous crab cakes. All the desserts are homemade and worth saving room for - in particular, they make a KILLER key lime pie.

We stopped here because of the comments on Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed! My wife had the crab cake and I had the hamburger. Both were very good, handmade and cooked perfectly. We should have tried the pies but we were full from our lunch. This was worth the stop!

This little place is nothing short of fantastic! My husband enjoyed the perfectly cooked rockfish and I thoroughly enjoyed my fried oysters. They were not overly breaded, were cooked to perfection, and the portions were very generous. The homemade sides (mac & cheese, Cole slaw, etc were outstanding. I just wish we lived closer so we could eat there several... More

Had a late lunch on a recent Friday afternoon and ordered the fried shrimp and oysters, both w/FF's and mac/cheese. Too much breading (we prefer flour) on the shrimp (just average size) and oysters (but very fresh/tasty), FF's cut/fried well, hushpuppies (delicious) but mac/cheese the worst for "homemade." Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, service was fast, but must... More

We tried this restaurant 3 years ago on the recommendation of the front desk at the Holiday Inn Express. It was later in the evening when we walked in the door and no other customers were in there. The walls were plywood like and I was hesitant to sit down. But, boy was I glad we did! The staff was... More

My husband and I both had fried oysters, but with different sides. If you expect fancy chef- prepared food, you've gone to the wrong place. The food is old-fashioned Eastern Shore (actually it's in the Northern Neck) fried seafood. The oysters were delicious, not greasy and definitely fried in fresh oil. The sides were also very good (butter beans, coleslaw,... More

I really wanted to like this place. It has a family atmosphere with a recliner in the corner and curtains on the windows to bring the home into the restaurant. The staff was super friendly and I imagined that we had really found a treasure of seafood since it is right near the water. Unfortunately, the food left much to... More

Recently stopped in for lunch and had the blackened burger with two co-workers. We could not finish our lunch as the burger was over cooked and covered in too much SALT!

This is down home hospitality, and fantastic food at its best. Don't let the appearance fool you - this place is great!! The seafood is great and the family atmosphere is worth the price of admission. You will always remember this as a true surprise - a good one!
