We have been to Vintage Tavern several times, including New Year's Eve with a large group......I must say I am puzzled by the few bad reviews as we have never experienced a problem. I will say that if you are looking for a "family" restaurant you should go elsewhere since this place is geared to... read more

First visit for a Birthday Celebration only to be refused to have my meat entree refused to be cooked to my taste specifications. The impression given was that the chef knew best how I would like my food. I seriously doubt that I will be returning since it appears they forgot the "Southern Hospitality" to go with the southern menu.

It's a hidden gem right over the James River and you can get a fireside table for a cozy dinner with someone special. It's got a lot of southern comfort food--pimento cheese and biscuits. We loved the sampler platter--especially the applewood smoked jam! We ended up just enjoying the appetizers, but the entree selections of other diners looked tremendous as... More

This is a very different restaurant in terms of the choices that are offered. Menu offerings are diverse and unpredictable. Atmosphere is warm and cozy and comfortable. Staff is unusually attentive and forthcoming. Overall, a great venue to enjoy for both special occasions and romantic outings with your special someone. one might think a bit on the pricey side, however,... More

My hubby and I decided to celebrate Valentine's Day a few days early. Good thing we did as Vintage Tavern was completely booked! The service was excellent (and I don't say that easily). We enjoyed a local appetizer and were particularly fond of the the made-in-house raspberry preserves. All the specials sounded wonderful. I went with the Venison Bolognese as... More

Dinner was a bit above average. My husbands ribs were a bit dry. I would have expected better for the prices.

The atmosphere was awesome! traditional, clean and warm! The service was outstanding. Food was very good and if you go on a night where you can walk out back and enjoy the air, it just adds a nice touch before dessert!
