Delightful!

This was our first visit to Vintage Tavern, but it certainly won't be our last. The atmosphere is Old South and the staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable regarding the menu, as well as food preparation. We were coming back from NEW BERN NC on our way home to VA BEACH. We were hungry & didn't want to eat at a chain plus it was my husband's 40th birthday. I had heard some good things about VT & read some of the reviews before deciding. My husband is a meat & potatoes guy - no fluff... More

Decided to do Vintage Tavern on Saturday night for a steak dinner for my husband and father in law. We have been here many times before and have always loved the food. Our waitress was amazing. I can't remember her name but we sat in the first half circle booth. I would recommend her. Our entrees were the flounder and... More

Very nice restaurant with great food. Wonderful atmosphere with an excellent service staff. I love their shrimp with grits. The very best I have ever eaten. As a starter their homemade pimento cheese is a winner & end your meal with their homemade ice cream. A very nice place to eat for that very special occasion. 1 Reply

I wanted to treat my out of town friend to something different than the state-by-state ol' characters of chain restaurants. Through 'Open Table' I found Vintage Tavern. We were having a record breaking snowfall in SE Virginia which kept many people off the road, thank goodness, we were able to book a table right away. I was surprised by the... More

7 People in our party and the Portions of food was so small we all were amazed that they charge such high prices for them??? For the money you are better off staying away from here unless you want to spend alot of money and go home still hungry? Food was good but, not the Quality or size of Portions... More

We dined at Vintage Tavern for our anniversary and were pleased with our choice. We've been here several times and have never been disappointed. The food is freshly prepared and locally source to help the farmers in our area. So, the specials may vary based on what they are able to prepare. The game will vary on occasion, i.e., buffalo,... I want to again thank the staff at this restaurant. We were there to celebrate a birthday with several other peaple when my husband needed to get some air. The staff could not do enough to help him or myself. They took a plate of snacks out to our car, set him up on the patio for his dinner and... More

First visit for a Birthday Celebration only to be refused to have my meat entree refused to be cooked to my taste specifications. The impression given was that the chef knew best how I would like my food. I seriously doubt that I will be returning since it appears they forgot the "Southern Hospitality" to go with the southern menu.

We have been to Vintage Tavern several times, including New Year's Eve with a large group......I must say I am puzzled by the few bad reviews as we have never experienced a problem. I will say that if you are looking for a "family" restaurant you should go elsewhere since this place is geared to providing a romantic, quiet dinner... More
