I stopped for an early lunch/late breakfast and tucked into a hearty feast of bacon, home made sausages, eggs with cheese, toast and OJ. It was all good quality and well cooked. The staff were as friendly as can be and it was a jolly fine experience. The decor is a little tired but that is no big deal. It... More

The small spaghetti dinner was more than enough and came with delicious garlic toast. The spaghetti and western omelet were both delicious for a reasonable price. The staff was very friendly and efficient. We'd have gone again if we'd been in town more than a day.

I visited this restaurant on July 4th with my mother and cousin after shopping at the Strasburg Emporium. There is a step up into the dining area; I had stopped to read the daily specials on the board and my mother (who will be 80 next month and has a heart condition) went on ahead. She did not see the... More

Had lunch @ Hi Neighbor. Friendly waitress. She took our order in a timely fashion made suggestions as to what was freshly made that day and what was favorites on menu. Food arrived in no time and was as she described. Waitress came back to check on us for beverage refills and to see if we wanted desert. Very nice... More

We generally love breakfast places with local flavor. Hi Neighbor was disappointing. Our food took forever although they were not busy. Our basic breakfasts were not good. We had planned to return the following day but opted for a banana and pastry from the hotel.

Hi Lindaatlake, Thank you for taking the time to review the Hi Neighbor. I am sorry to see that your visit was unsatisfactory. I will share it with staff and review ways to prevent that from happening in the future. Most of the customers at the Neighbor are satisfied with their experience and do come back which is why I... Walking into the Hi Neighbor, one could easily be a bit wary. Old, tired, questionably clean. But once the breakfast arrives, all is good as the food was a surprise. Now, it was breakfast, after all, so I don't know how the rest of the meals here may be. But the eggs were good, bacon very good, taters and toast... More

Hi Bob W. Thanks for your review of the Neighbor. Yes we are a little funky but we have a great deal of pride in what we do. From using only real butter in all our cooking to giving the folks at the Liars table a place to enjoy the day and solve the problems of the community and the... More

An old diner in an old town. But the waitresses are very friendly and food is fresh and good. If you are looking for a fast food or a five star restaurant; don't stop here. But for some good comfort food this is a good choice. My wife loves their fresh beets (not pickled) and their vegetables are all good.... More

Come in your overalls or your church clothes, nobody cares. The atmosphere is best described as "totally relaxed". Bring lots of time and a good appetite for home cooked meals. Bring the family, bring some friends, or come by yourself and make some new friends. The name Hi Neighbor says it all: everybody is welcomed like a neighbor and receives... More

Hi Mk1va, Thanks for your review. I think you hit it on the head when you say "Go Native". There is no doubt that we have plenty of local color. From the group that shows up at 5:15 am when we are arriving to get ready to open. They sit and have coffee and have a great time picking on... More

My husband and I visited Hi Neighbor for breakfast on a recent one-night trip to Strasburg. This is a place where locals congregate, or as one lady said, "this is where all the action is." The restaurant is seat-yourself, with a combination of tables, booths, and a lunch counter. It's an unpretentious, humble establishment, so if you're looking for Ruth's... More
