Good craft brews and good food

While in the DC area we went to Sweetwater Tavern for dinner. My son had the blackened prime rib and he said it was very good but lacked the heat he was looking for. But it was seasoned nicely but needed more heat. I had the grilled chicken and had it blackened also. The chicken was cooked... read more

After a long four hours of driving from Pittsburgh, we stopped at Sweetwater as a treat for ourselves. We were mildly disappointed with the appetizer which was a special that failed to hit the mark. However, the beer, as always, was delicious and The entrée, which is standard fare, was delightful. We will still stop again as the disappointing appetizer... More

Was told this was a must go restaurant in the area. Food quality was what one would expect from a chain; acceptable, but not memorable. Service was efficient, but not noteworthy. What we didn't like was the noise and the decor felt very pedestrian.

We are very familiar over the years with Sweetwater Tavern. Every season has its own appeal. The drunken ribeye and a fresh salad (greens) is worth a trip. There are always a fine selection of their brews ... for any taste. The service is well done. Any night/any time -- it's all good.

I enjoyed visiting this place while in town. I was with a group and everyone enjoyed there meal. I had the rotisserie chicken and it was seasoned really well and tender. I would recommend visiting this place if in the area. I didn't get to enjoy any of the beers they serve but the bar was packed while there.

Yes, Great American Restaurants (GAR) is a true local success story, but what made Mike’s American Grill in Springfield a success has lost a bit of its luster here. For starters the call-in wait policy is an absolute disaster, the front of the house staff needs training in timing table turns and providing accurate wait times, the food is excellent... More

A friend and I meet up here as often as possible. Burgers are some of the best I've ever had, along with great shoestring fries. Salads are good also. I especially recommend the chop house salad. Seafood is good but is fairly expensive. For dessert, the chocolate waffle is amazing.

Food and service were excellent. Was surprised there was a gluten free menu provided at seating (didn't have to request one). Cowboy decor with an amazing mural along one wall. I'll be trying this restaurant again

We love going to Sweetwater Tavern and usually order the fish of the day. It is always fresh and prepared in a creative fashion. On our last visit we both had the Mahi Mahi, which was a thick piece of white fish cooked perfectly. The beer selections are always good and we like to have the waiter bring us some... More
