The whole atmosphere of the restaurant is very warm and inviting. It feels like you are in Germany, and often they have musicians who really complete the ambiance. The food is fantastic. I think it is best to go with a group so that you can taste each other's dishes. The sides come served family style and there are plenty.... More

We enjoyed a schnitzel with all the trimings and just had to try the Black Forrest cake--it was great ! The decorations were great and all the food tasted genuine ,almost like in Frankfurt in Germany , well worth a stop anytime you are close by Exit 213 on rt 81 .

I have been coming here for quite some time. Over the last few visits the food quality seems to have dropped somewhat. The wait staff is OK, buton our recent visits they made no attempt to really make you feel welcome. I'll probably try it again in the future, but as of now for the cost for a couple I'd... More

We found it definitely worth the stop for lunch if you're driving through. Sure beats fast-food. The waitress and kitchen were accommodating to my gluten-free needs and quick with the food. The Christmas decorations were so cute! However, when I took food to go, I was bummed that she gave me a styrofoam container. So bad for the environment. And... More

Stopped for lunch. Right off interstate 81 at exit 213. Had the Knackwurst and Jagerschnitzel. Both were excellent. The dishes come with all you have want green beans, Bavarian cabbage, red cabbage, and spatzel. Real German draft beer, and Black Forest cake for desert. This place was a great surprise.

My car broke down nearby during a crosscountry roadtrip so I had a day or two to kill while I waited for the repairs. I wandered over to Edelweiss for some breakfast the next morning and ended up never leaving. Not only was it the best German food I've ever had (get the fried fish! And cake!) but they even... More

Six of us stopped in for a late night dinner at Edelweiss. Even though it was fifteen minutes until closing, our waiter was very gracious and patient. I had the sauerbraten which was some of the best I have ever had. The sides, all served family style, were ample and delicious. This delightful little German restaurant, though a bit off... More

My wife and I stopped here on the recommendation of the local KOA staff, and we were very glad we did. The ambience is rustic and feels like it came directly from a Bavarian town with food on par with the same. Several of the staff speak German and were very knowledgeable of both the food and culture. I had... More

What a wonderful find near Staunton. Our reservation was honored promptly & we experienced great (and very humorous) service from Walter! Highly recommend the German sampler dish. We've never had better Sauerbraten anywhere!! The various schnitzels and gravies were delicious. The special of the day was cabbage rolls - excellent. My wife ordered the Bratwurst & Weirwurst; again, absolutely delicious... More

Several years ago we stopped and ate here but none of the three of us were pleased with the food. My wife and I stopped again to give it a second chance and we were pleased with the food this time. I had the sauerbraten and it was good as were sides that came with our meals. The service was... More
