We had had this restaurant recommended to us by some VMI families, and I am so thrilled that we listened. What a special treat!! We had a party of 6 and we ordered 3 of the German sampler platters. The food was delicious and very plentiful. The restaurant is small, so make reservations, but definitely go...it was very much worth... More

A very nice German atmosphere and menu. Service with a smile. Very nice selection of German wines and Beers. Menu selections represent what you would find in Germany. Food is very tasty and the desserts are excellent.

Having travelled 20 miles on the recommendation of our Select Registry host, we had a warm welcome at Edelweiss. 3 of us had Rahmschnitzel and one had Hungarian-style Goulasch. The thinly-cut pork of the Rahmschnitzel was like eating cardboard and came with canned beans, tasteless red cabbage and sauerkraut that had been nowhere near Germany. The runny cream sauce was... I waited two years traveling by this place before finally coming by when they were open. I love German restraunts and food so this was a stop i was really looking forward to. It was awful. The food seemed fresh out of a can, the service was horrible, and the atmosphere, although there were a few nice touches, seemed like... More

Our son suggested a German restaurant in Staunton for dinner on Parents Weekend. We made reservations and were happy to get outside of the crowded atmosphere in Lexington. This 2-story log cabin just off exit 213 on I-81, not the 222 exit for Staunton. Atmosphere is a bit rustic and dimly lit, but the parking lot was packed at 6:00... More

I was curious about this place and encouraged by the reviews on Trip Advisor but could not have been more disappointed. I was hoping for a hot ham sandwich, but they didn't offer any sandwich options on the lunch menu. My husband and I both ended up ordering the Rinderbraten. The roast beef seemed like a cheaper cut and the... More

A colleague and I were traveling along I-81 at dinner time and did not want fast food. We say the sign for Edelweiss and decided to give it a try. The restaurant is in an old log cabin very near the highway. It offers a number of traditional German dishes that come with a variety of garnish. It's not fancy... More

My husband used to work at the Goshen boy scout camp and came here often, about 20 years ago. As part of our trip, he's been going down memory lane. This was one of our stops and biggest enjoyments. He said it hasn't changed much. The food was very, very good! If you want to take a trip to Germany... More

After a week of eating out, eating here on our way home was a pleasant change. The restaurant has a very homey feel and the food is definitely made with love. We enjoyed the healthy sides with our meal, mine gluten free. We left feeling good. Best place to eat while traveling through the Shenandoah Valley.

My wife and I finally got to eat at the restaurant, we have passed by either too early or too late in the day, or on a Monday (they are closed on Monday). We arranged to be at this place on our way back from Richmond, Virginia, a good decision. The food was excellent and the service was prompt, friendly... More
