Ate here because we were staying next door at the Best Western, Staunton Inn. She had crab cakes and I had meat loaf. Both were very tasty. Portions were good-sized and prices were reasonable. Service was very good. The cashier's face was a bit on the dour side, but that didn't affect the meal! Nice porch with lots of chairs... More

My homemade meal(meat loaf) was delicious. The sides were fresh, not the frozen dishes the chains conjure up. Worth the stop. Recommended !!

Maybe it was because the person who recommended this restaurant raved about it, but I was disappointed. The people there are very nice, and the food is good, not great. The homemade pies are good, not great.

Well, as usual, a visit to Mrs. Rowe's impresses with really good meals, recognizable selections and a wide variety of very interesting and somewhat different side dishes. The dishes selected at our table were roast turkey with mashed potatoes, dressing and corn. (granddaughter); baked chicken with collard greens (very good and unusual)l and baked tomatoes (we can't seem to resist... More

I love country cooking and I was very excited about eating here. It was horrible! We arrived around 6:30pm so maybe that was the problem. The server was horribly slow and even told us she was sorry she took so long but she got side-tracked. She never offered a drink refill and I didn't even bother to ask. The food... More

I have been eating at Rowe's for years and used to think this restaurant was exceptional for value and quality. It has slipped big time. I ordered a baked stuffed chicken breast, which the waitress described as skinless, and requested that it be served without the stuffing. The chicken was covered with skin (excuse: they changed suppliers) and with the... More

Had dinner here once. This place reminds me a little bit like a local Cracker Barrel. Down home type menu/food selections. Dinner was OK not great, decent service. Nice selection of deserts. OK place to eat if your looking for average but not outstanding meals. I would probably return and give it another try if in the area again.

They were out of one of their most popular dishes, chicken pot pie, by 12:45. The food was good and home made but served luke warm. Given the amount of time it took to be served, we suspect our meal sat in the kitchen for awhile before our server brought it to our table. Baked goods looked good but we... More

I ordered a hot roast beef sandwich. Bread had a mold taste, and very little beef. I wanted the blueberry pie, I was told it was out of season. The waitress gave us our food and did not come back to see if everything was okay. When I paid at the cashier desk, again I was not asked "how was... More

We have been stopping at this restaurant for several years on our way to and from North Carolina. The food is excellent home style cooking and very reasonably priced. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for home cooking.
