It seems like a real family place, run by family for families. Home cooking, pleasant and friendly service. Good food,

This is a local restaurant that serves Southern style food. It was okay, but nothing special. The cost of the meal was inexpensive. Service was very good.

Went here for dinner had the fried chicken and it was delicious! Had blueberry pie for dessert....yum....no wonder they've been around since 1947. Service was wonderful!

We were looking forward to trying Mrs. Rowe's and we wee sadly disappointed. We had two orders of fried chicken, neither of which tasted good, let alone great. The fish was cold, as were the mashed potatoes. The veggies were overcooked. Our waitress was nice but looked EXHAUSTED. Apparently, the entire restaurant had been full prior to our arrival and... My friend and I were in Staunton sightseeing and stopped here for lunch. Except for the pie, which was excellent, we both felt the food was very mediocre. I ordered fried fish and was served a small portion of batter with a smidgen of fish. I sent it back. The next piece was small, but at least it contained some... More

Had breakfast there and had my worst cup of coffee in years, a plate piled high with flavorless cream chipped beef that tasted like they bought it from a supermarket, and a limp plate of scrambled eggs that were flat and looked like they were made by my seven year old. My waitress was unpleasant and when I asked a... More

Ate here because we were staying next door at the Best Western, Staunton Inn. She had crab cakes and I had meat loaf. Both were very tasty. Portions were good-sized and prices were reasonable. Service was very good. The cashier's face was a bit on the dour side, but that didn't affect the meal! Nice porch with lots of chairs... More

My homemade meal(meat loaf) was delicious. The sides were fresh, not the frozen dishes the chains conjure up. Worth the stop. Recommended !!

Maybe it was because the person who recommended this restaurant raved about it, but I was disappointed. The people there are very nice, and the food is good, not great. The homemade pies are good, not great.

Well, as usual, a visit to Mrs. Rowe's impresses with really good meals, recognizable selections and a wide variety of very interesting and somewhat different side dishes. The dishes selected at our table were roast turkey with mashed potatoes, dressing and corn. (granddaughter); baked chicken with collard greens (very good and unusual)l and baked tomatoes (we can't seem to resist... More
