We have heard lots of good things, but were both sorely disappointed. Mainly for me it was because my food arrived lukewarm. I ordered pork chops with baked apples, coleslaw, Lima beans and spoon bread. The server came back to tell me there were no chops, would I like tenderloin? Baked apples were not served with my selection, so I... More

We have been here several times over the years when we have been in the area and always had a good meal, but when we came this time it was about an hour before they closed and it had to be the worst service that we have ever had. Our waitress basically took our order, dropped it off and then never... More

Mrs. Rowe's is known all over the East Coast for their excellent family dining and probably, perhaps more than anything else, their bakery. We have friends from the D,C, area who operate a tour business who make Mrs Rowe's a regular stop when bringing a tour group through this area. My wife and I dine there frequently for breakfast and... More

Rowes is a great family owned business that makes you feel like you're part of their family home cooked food friendly staff who are ready to make you feel at home. We look forward to breakfast at rowes.

Mrs. Rowe's is exactly what you expect...family atmosphere, friendly service, and solid execution of a basic menu. Our breakfast was good, but not hugely exciting. Best part? The huge cinnamon bun - get that!!! Also loved carafes of coffee and water on our table.

When traveling from Charlotte back to our home place in West Virginia/Maryland for Thanksgiving, we stopped at Mrs Rowes in Staunton for dinner and to stretch out legs. While the sevices was a little off for the first time in many, many years, the food was just as delicious as it ever was! I attribute the sevice being off a... More

I'm a baby boomer so I'm no kid, but when I walked into the dining area of this restaurant I felt like I was in the movie Cocoon. Other than myself and the waitresses, everyone looked to be over 70. I respect my elders, so being over 70 is not in and of itself a bad thing. It seems the... More

Yes, it IS country food, not too much unlike what you would find at Cracker Barrel, but you will find some great folks here who care about the generous portions and quality. Plus, you cannot beat their deserts!

Our tour bust stopped at Mr's Rowes for lunch and about 40 people were served promptly and deliciously. Their liver and onions were very good. Chicken pot pie was awesome. So many compliments around the table from everyone. The baked goods are mouthwatering. Just off I-81 at Interstate 64. Pies to go! Nice little gift shop next door. Nothing real... More

Many of the reviews are very accurate with regards to the majority of the food. I am not sure why, but the fried chicken was moist; however, it was severed luke-warm (not hot). It wasn't greasy, but the temperature was a problem with me. The fried apples were unique with nutmeg and clove. I could see that many people would... More
