Mrs. Rowe's is an old standby restaurant in the Staunton, VA area. If you want good basic southern cooking, then do not miss this place. We have been here many times for breakfast. Even if your motel provides you with free breakfast, it is worth passing that up in order to eat at Mrs. Rowe's. One word of warning, if... More

My husband & I had an excellent meal here on a recent visit to Staunton. The prices were very reasonable compared to restaurants near our home in western PA. My husband had the southern fried half chicken and I had the meatloaf. Both were excellent with a great homemade taste. We had cherry and coconut cream pie for dessert and... More

I grew up in Staunton and have eaten here multiple times. More so than I can count... Every time I would go growing up and as an adult, it would always feel warm and welcoming... I've ordered numerous things on the menu... My favorite has always been the turkey and gravy and mashed potatoes and green beans. It's delicious and... More

1/2 way between North Jersey & UT in Knoxville. Stick with the Southern specialities and you cannot make a poor choice. The desserts are excellent. The hard part is choosing just one so we always get a few to go. Next door is a shop with a good selection of reasonably priced wines.

Hardwood floors, display cases filled with homemade pies and rolls in the entrance area. Servers were friendly and made us feel very welcomed. It was our 11th wedding anniversary and we wanted to find something close to our hotel. The hotel desk clerk highly recommended Mrs. Rowe's and I am very glad! Everything is homemade! We finished our meal by... More

Wanted home cooking and that's what I got. It was good too, Had meatloaf that I could have shared with at least 2 other people and we all would have been full. Veggies were great and good portion size, Server was friendly but kept talking down the kitchen staff's work ethic. I would go back for more if in the... More

The food was wonderful and the people (and pastries) were fantastic. Our server, Shirley, was both efficient and delightful. The food was classically good country cooking and the prices were reasonable. My wife and I fell in love with the place. We will definitely be back if we're ever again in the area.

We can't imagine how this restaurant got the favorable reviews we saw framed and laminated in the lobby, and in the nearby motel. This menu was limited and not very creative. We ordered the New York Strip Steak, and I have no idea what we got. I didn't recognize the cut of meat at all. I am pretty sure it... More

This was a pleasant surprise. Very good food. Simple country cooking. The pork tenderloin was great. Their Mac and Cheese was the best and spoon bread was great. Prices were fair. It was worth the stop
