We were staying at the Iris Inn in Waynesboro and based on TA reviews, we decided to dine in Stuanton. Byers Street got great reviews so we decided to try lunch. Loved the historic building and relaxed atmosphere. I had the mahi fish tacos and my husband had the prime rib sandwich. For dessert we had the peanut butter pie... More

Located in the historic part of town close to the old railroad station, the Byers Street Bistro offers value for the dollar. Ask to eat upstairs where the ambience is friendly; the seating less crowded; and the many paintings reflective of the fine art work coming out of the Shendoah Valley. The salads are especially good here. Order yours with... More

We were traveling 81 on our journey from NC to Baltimore and needed a place to eat. Not being big fast food types, we were looking for a great local place. We certainly found it! The atmosphere and decor is wonderful and service is great. They had a guitar/bango duo playing folk songs that filled the place with music. Cammy,... More

After our show at the Shakespeare Theater on 11/16 , we were looking for a nice place for dinner to continue the celebration of my wife's significant birthday. Luckily it was Sunday and a lot of the town is closed. This limited our choices. So although we found it by necessity, we will always eat there when we return to... More

Very nice atmosphere, family friendly, great selection of beers. Be careful not to over-order as the portions are HUGE. A kid's cheeseburger could literally feed two. The plate of fries is amazing, topped with cheese and bacon -probably the best plate of fries I have ever tasted. Will definitely come again.

Our first visit, and the many good reviews are spot on. They had an interesting menu full of casual food at good prices, and the food was very good. The place had a pleasant atmosphere, and the service was friendly and efficient. Quite a nice place.

We had the baby spinach salad with chicken and also another time with fish. The flavors and ingredients were perfect. We had the salad one day for lunch and returned the next day to order the baby spinach salad again. The next best salad is found at the Chop House in Madison, GA, but too far to drive from Staunton,... More

After a great wine tasting at Ox Eye in Staunton we were looking for a casual dining spot and found one at the Byers Street Bistro. While the food was reasonably priced, and we enjoyed our entrees, we had a sense that the food was prepared earlier in the day and warmed over. My husband had the meat loaf and... More

My spouse, friends and I make a point of having lunch or dinner at Byers Street Bistro every time we visit Staunton to see a few plays at the American Shakespeare Center -- going back at least 5 years. The menu has plenty of variety (I'm a burger guy but my family/friends have ordered many other dishes that were tasteful)... More

Yesterday I had the lunch special of the day, fish cakes on bed of greens, and it was perfect. The lunch menu isn't exciting here, but executed well . This was first time I sampled more creative cooking. (to be fair, I admit I am not familiar with dinner menu). P.S. In good weather the patio is charming.
