It had been some time since we had dined at Ubon Thai Victorian, but were pleased to see recent reviews were trending positive. The place was almost empty during the dinner hour on a Sunday, with one server on duty. The food was excellent -- one Seeda Lui Fai (basically shrimp in a coconut milk, garnishes, and 'Thai sauce') and... More

I lived in downtown Staunton for over a year, and didn't find this place until recently. We parked in the back parking lot and walked through this beautiful garden area. The entrance has a sign on top so it's easy to find the right door. When we walked in there was one other table eating dinner. I ordered the shrimp... More

The good news: the owners are very welcoming and friendly. Otherwise, we found the restaurant to be a bit cluttered with walls covered with photos and decorations, tables very close together - the place has a musty, unclean feeling. We were the only guests there. The table mats were not fresh.. Food was fairly good, but we were charged $1.99... More

The only reason I gave only 4 stars is we did not sample a large portion of the menu. The property is cool, quirky and historical. You must look carefully for the sign that tells you the parking is three more right turns if you are coming in from the East on Frederick. A right on N Jefferson, next right... More

My husband and I went there for lunch on my birthday. We had often driven by this beautiful old Victorian house and wanted to try it, especially we had never tried Thi food before. There appeared to be no one else there so were a little reluctant to try it. But try it we did. Mrs Ubon, the proprietor, warmly... More

During a vacation, I was able to taste the food at an Arts Festivals. The chicken kabob and rice combo was deliciously amazing. Added to that was the concoction of peppers and spices in a liquid melody to spoon over the the food. Yikes...it was hot, but good. Definitely authentic Thai in the valley.

We just happened by Ubon Thai by accident. Although it was only late afternoon, we were slightly hungry and it made sense to us to eat early and allow for a post dinner, pre theater walk. We walked in, seated ourselves, and for a few minutes we didn't see any staff at all. There was a couple seated and they... More

What a great experience! My husband and I stopped in for a lunch date this week and were thoroughly impressed with the quality of both the food and service. The owner took the time to come greet us and take our order personally and by the time we left, we felt like we had made a new friend. Ubon explained... More

The food was not only amazingly good, it was very reasonable. Ubon made us feel like we were the only people there even tho the place was full. The food came out fast and was very very good! The service was outstanding. This was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had! I highly recommend this restaurant for... More

On a recent trip from Florida to Rochester we decided to have a late lunch / early dinner. Thanks trip advisor as we happened into this wonderful establishment. The owner Ubon (flower) greeted us with a very warm welcome. Immediately we knew we were going to have a fantastic experience. We did. It was a wow!!!! We had the crispy... More
