Late lunch

Last year in January we visited Staunton during our annual stay at Massanutten Resort. This year we decided to try the Pampered Palate Café again as last year was so good. We were not disappointed! You enter the café thru the 2nd door to eat in. There are several tables here with a small gift selection area in the back.... More

We stopped by the Pampered Palate on January 15th, 2015 for breakfast. It looks so cute inside with round tables covered in green checkered tablecloths. There was nice music playing in the background. I ordered the quiche breakfast platter; homemade quiche Lorraine, hot coffee cake muffin with butter, and fresh fruit. The quiche was ok, a little runny, the fruit... More

This cafe has an extensive lunch menu--many types of sandwiches and platters, and you can "build your own" sandwich by selecting a meat, cheese, bread, sauce, etc. It's reasonably priced. Seating is on two floors. The waiter may have been overworked. We had to ask more than once for tableware, napkins, etc. But the food came out in a reasonable... More

Casual atmosphere, good quality food for lunch. I had a "parking garage" sandwich and the broccoli soup. Both were excellent quality. This is just a simple "stop in for lunch while shopping" type of spot. Good for ladies day out type of thing. Everyones' food looked great. Good quality breads and meats.

Food was NOT good and neither was the service. Sat upstairs at first but server walked up to the table without a greeting saying "What do you want?". We ordered a pot of tea and then based on his interaction with surrounding tables we went downstairs. Ordered chips and herb dip to start which was cream cheese mixed with herbs,... More

We stopped for takeout sandwiches before driving the Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park. They have a lot of different and unique sandwiches. We tried the brie, ham, apple sandwich and turkey and Havarti. Sandwiches come with fruit or chips. I thought prices were a little high at nearly $10 and when I saw the size of the sandwiches, I... This bistro as a surprisingly large menu of soups and sandwiches and wraps that all look very nutritious. I ate there twice, once with a large group of cyclists and again days later with a smaller family group. Both times the service was good (the place was always packed with people waiting outside for a tale to open up). Understand... More

This lovely place has a long menu with many interesting options. We had a tasty soup and half sandwich special with fruit for about $7.50. Good soups, quiche, sandwiches. Easy free street parking.

This little bistro had a wonderfully tasty and a wonderfully priced menu. The quiche Lorraine was delicious and the perfect start to your day. Tables were a little small, barely big enough for two, but the staff was friendly and prompt. Worth a try.
