Good lunch place

There is an extensive sandwich menu for lunch. I chose the Mountain Laurel: smoke ham, melted brie, and sliced apples on a croissant. It was very good. The service was a little slow. Our waiter looked very young (as in, is this kid old enough to be working?) and could have used a little more... read more

Yesterday my husband and I had a very nice lunch at The Pampered Palate. Business was lively and it appeared that most of the diners were locals--many knew each other and the staff of the cafe. We had the soup and sandwich combo--Corn chowder (excellent) and Portobello grain (also excellent). We didn't like our sandwiches as much--chicken salad, but I... More

Enjoyed a late lunch here. We both ordered potato soup. It arrived hot and served with crackers. The soup had huge chunks of potato and was a generous portion. I did find it needed a little pepper. I also ordered Quiche Lorraine with a side salad. It was a generous portion. Very tasty and served warm with a side of... More

Went for breakfast on a weekend. Quiet and pleasant spot, but not exciting. Menu is simple, but nice. Everything was fresh and simply presented. Service was attentive and accommodating. Overall, it was fine, and we would go back... But it just wasn't exciting or memorable.

My wife and I ordered two sandwiches to take with us in the car as we departed town to continue our road trip. We both got chicken salad, one on a multigrain baguette and the other on pita. The staff was pleasant and wanting to please. The wait time was minimal and both sandwiches would turn out to be very... More

We were staying at Massanutten for Thanksgiving and took a day trip into Staunton, VA. Stopped at the Pampered Palate for a late lunch/early dinner. I ordered the Town Clock Reuben on toasted rye. It was a decent deli sandwich, made correctly - It is often difficult to get a decent Reuben outside of major cities. The sandwich was served... More

Last year in January we visited Staunton during our annual stay at Massanutten Resort. This year we decided to try the Pampered Palate Café again as last year was so good. We were not disappointed! You enter the café thru the 2nd door to eat in. There are several tables here with a small gift selection area in the back.... More

We stopped by the Pampered Palate on January 15th, 2015 for breakfast. It looks so cute inside with round tables covered in green checkered tablecloths. There was nice music playing in the background. I ordered the quiche breakfast platter; homemade quiche Lorraine, hot coffee cake muffin with butter, and fresh fruit. The quiche was ok, a little runny, the fruit... More

This cafe has an extensive lunch menu--many types of sandwiches and platters, and you can "build your own" sandwich by selecting a meat, cheese, bread, sauce, etc. It's reasonably priced. Seating is on two floors. The waiter may have been overworked. We had to ask more than once for tableware, napkins, etc. But the food came out in a reasonable... More

Casual atmosphere, good quality food for lunch. I had a "parking garage" sandwich and the broccoli soup. Both were excellent quality. This is just a simple "stop in for lunch while shopping" type of spot. Good for ladies day out type of thing. Everyones' food looked great. Good quality breads and meats.
