Quirky and Fun

Started with deep-fried black eyed peas. As I said; quirky and fun. Supposed to bring good luck. Farm to table. Tomato and Mozzarella Salad needed more mozzarella. Oysters were fabulous. The chorizo and egg entre was perfect. Wait staff was attentive and fun. Go and Enjoy.

We (family of five) went to Zynodoa for a birthday celebration and it was a wonderful experience. The food is top notch and well prepared. I would highly recommend the risotto, any pork dish and the fish. The service was terrific and attentive. It is such a pleasure to go to a restaurant where you are treated well, the food... More

The food and service were excellent on our one night visit to this restaurant. The server was attentive and helpful and our trout and risotto dishes were well cooked and full of flavour. Would go again if in the area.

I would never have imagined I would find food of this caliber in a small town in Virginia! It is Farm to table, local and is simply superb! The Carolina shrimp was the best I have ever eaten! First rate wine selection! Bill was a first class waiter who gave us excellent service! Ps: I readily admit that I am... More

Recently we paid a return visit to Zynodoa and were pleased to find that it has, if anything, gotten even better! My husband and I had the tasting menu and each course, with its wine pairing, was excellent--from the appetizer of fried oysters, the pork belly with grits, the barramundi with lentil salad, to the chocolate pot de creme---everything was... We enjoyed an intimate birthday celebration at Zynodoa. After listening to friends recommend it we decided to try it out. The whole trout and tea brined chicken were excellent. We both loved the bruschetta. The bread was grilled and the flavor from the grill was amazing. The chicken was beyond tender and fell off the bone. Our server was enthusiastic... More

This may be the best meal of 2015, period, and it is only April. We met friends for a wine tasting weekend ands ate at Zynodoa. The black bean soup was outstanding - puréed and a little brothy, but topped with a Chorizo Curry Cream that made it one of the best I have had. My entre was the roast... More

We had a group of 6 friends who were doing a wine tasting weekend in the Charlottesville area. Luckily, we found time to make a side trip to Zynodoa in Staunton! What an incredible meal -- from start to finish! Incredibly unique mix of flavors -- everyone in our group was raving about how wonderful their meal was. Personally, I... More

Staunton is a town with several outstanding farm to table choices and where young, talented chefs are gravitating to. Zynadoa is at the top. Wonderful food, absolutely superior waitstaff, and an inviting modern environment combine for a memorable meal.
