A touch of Urban Chic in the mountains

Went there for a Birthday Celebration dinner! The décor was interesting for the area. It has a very Urban vibe, like you are in NYC or Boston. The food is pricy, but good and the bar is very nice. We stared with the black eyed pea fritters and spicy tomato jam, and the bruleed corn bread. I tried... read more

I was excited to finally get to Zynodoa, one of Virginia's most well regarded restaurants. It turned out to be good but certainly not great. I think it is telling that I cannot remember what I ate and it was only a week ago. I, unfortunately, do remember the rather cold waitress. The atmosphere is quite sophisticated for such a... More

This restaurant really has it together on every level. The staff is knowledgeable and pleasant. The ambiance is upscale but very relaxed. The food is exceptional and very accessible, meaning it has a great selection of dishes that many would enjoy, from the appetizers, main courses and desserts. Highly recommended.

This is an excellent restaurant. We read the reviews which were quite interesting. Yes the portions are modest. Yes the price is moderately high but the quality and value are top notch. We had the cucumber soup and tomato and watermelon salad - both as fresh as possible. For entrees we had the scallops and the shrimp dishes - one... More

My wife and I loved this restaurant. It was great for a romantic night out. I had fries with cheese as an app and it was very good. For entree I had some of the best scallops I've ever eaten. My wife had an amazing buttered pasta dish. I was a little disappointed in the popover I had as a... More

We recently spent a few nights in Staunton, and we ended up at Zynodoa twice. We sat at the bar both times and experienced wonderful food, drinks, and service. They had many different beers (my favorite was the Porter on tap), and interesting cocktails. They focus on using local produce, and are a farm to table restaurant. We shared different... More

Zynodoa is a restaurant on a level on its own. Yes, its expensive but, it is superb fine dining that we have not been able to match in this area. This was our 3rd visit to Zynodoa and we are continually amazed by the quality of the food and service provided by the staff. Considering its a 2½ hr drive... More

We visited Zynodoa tonight. The food is fabulous. The staff was very pleasant and attentive. For pure enjoyment, try the "Home Cut Fries" starter. Absolutely outstanding. You can't go wrong here.

We absolutely LOVE this restaurant! We love it so much that we blogged about it on our food blog here: http://www.ourfoodieappetite.com/zynodoa-restaurant-review-staunton-va/ The menu is ever changing based on the local produce. The chef is spectacular. Everything is done with creativity and finesse and you will not leave unimpressed. Check out our review on our blog to read more about it!

Hubby And I just finished a fabulous dinner at zynadoa. Hubby had the Prix fixe menu with pairings-cucumber soup, seared tuna, braised short ribs, and tiramisu. All were delicious, but we didn't love the Riesling pairing with the tuna. I had the fettuccine with mint pesto which was rich and savory. A great dinner with good service.
