We stopped off at one restaurant in Staunton that stanked of stale beer, so we left and walked down the street to Emlio's. We are glad we did as the ambiance is nice, the service superb and the meal was fantastic. Wonderful and we will gladly go back the next time we are in town.
Great service, food, wine list & environment. Portions are unnecessarily large, though. Our second choice for fine dining in Staunton.
The food and atmosphere were fab! Met some fun and interesting people there too. the front of the house staff needs a little more training to match the level and quality of food being served. the music was at the right volume and the atmosphere was calming.
Emilio's pace could best be described as leisurely. Depending on your dining style, some might call it laborious. If Aesop lived in present-day Staunton, he may have been inspired to re-write his classic as "Emilio and the Hare." The servers are very attentive and friendly, but the food just takes its sweet time.

We had a group of 18 for dinner, and prearranged the upstairs room. It was a relaxed, almost 4-hour experience. The staff got every cocktail hour order exactly right, though we were milling about, and handed each of us the exact right bill at the end of the night! They were even clear in telling us as payment time that...

We were here for a reharsal dinner. The couple getting married obviously knjow a thing or two about food and the folks here at Emilios certainly do too!
A few friends and I had planned a girls weekend to Staunton, and we thought Emilio's would be a great place to eat as it's very close to the American Shakespeare Center, and as we had a little over an hour before the play, we decided to stop in and eat.
It was almost 10 minutes before our waiter came...

The restaurant needs a complete make over. All is very dirty and unappealing. Needs a complete renovation from bathroom to walls. Food is average. Doesn't appear to be housemade. More like Costco which isn't bad but can eat that at home and cheaper. The sauce may be the only fresh homemade but not sure. It is average as rated.
I brought my wife to Emilio's during our Anniversary weekend stay in nearby Waynesboro. The food was terrific and surprisingly affordable. I heartily recommend the veal saltimbocca! The service was also top tier, although I felt bad that my server had to keep running up and down the staircase! Emilio came out to greet us and ask us about our...
