This is now called "By and By" and includes a Beer Garden in the backyard. It is right down the street from the American Shakespeare Center. The coffee is good, the hot cocoa is popular, and the Italian sodas are good. I was not thrilled by the cleanliness of the bathroom or the friendliness of the staff on a Saturday... More

Cute little beer garden, friendly staff, good selection of beers and wines. Don't miss the Sci-fi film night - a surreal and fun experience (wear bug spray in summer!)

I was in town for a wedding and needed a place to work for the better part of Saturday (unfortunately). By and By (new name changed from Coffee on the Corner) was the perfect place - welcoming staff, great coffee, delicious lunch, and free wifi. I stayed the entire day - ordered just coffee for breakfast (I'm not really a... More

On the corner nearest to Blackfriar's is a nice coffee shop. For years I have gotten coffee and sandwiches before going to see a Shakespearean play. Today I just had a large latte before MacBeth. Sat outside on the sidewalk. Very pleasant, indeed.

I'm addicted to Coffee on the Corner. It's my go-to breakfast and/or lunch stop every time I'm in Staunton. And I've even done sandwich-style dinners on occasion! Staff is welcoming and helpful. Owner remembers regular customers and welcomes us. Food is very tasty! Lots of interesting sandwiches (the reuben is outstanding!), good soups, nice morning oatmeal, though the bagels are... More

We were in need of lunch. Happened upon this spot thinking it was only coffee. To our delight found out lunch was available, so we stayed. We were pleased with our meals and would have lingered but had to make an appointment. The coffee and drinks they were making looked delicious, but if in need of a quick and tasty... More

In my 13 years as a resident in Staunton, VA, I had never been treated as shabbily by a local business as I was by the owner of Coffee on the Corner, Claire. I came in on a Monday morning, dressed in proper work attire, after my volunteer job, to escape the pouring rain while waiting for the bus. In... More

Loved the coffee and the service at the "Coffee on the Corner" in Staunton, VA. Very quaint and friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Wonderful people work there and frequent there. Lots of college students and teachers, with the feeling of intelligent creativity going on all around you. Wonderful - stop in and have a cup!

We stopped for a couple of Americanos, but the food looked so good we ended up having a very tasty lunch.

Had the privilege of eating here during a trip to Staunton for a conference. Great place with lots of character. Had the half sandwich and a cup of soup (Rueben and Mexican Tortilla) which were perfectly prepared. Highly recommend stopping by for a wonderful meal.
