A menagerie of flavors. I tried several over a couple visits and each one was more perfectly executed than the last. Extremely full and rich. Have a double scoop--it's more than worth the cringing after you step on the scale the next day.

Wow, what wonderful flavors! The maker of the homeade Gelato certainly must have great taste buds. It was super. Expensive but super. A very nice special treat. I will treat myself there again on my next visit to Staunton. Next time it must be a banana split...

I had chocolate gelatto and cookie dough ice cream. Generous scoops with a cute little waffle cone "scoop" to help me eat. The place has the charm of an old fashioned ice cream parlor (complete with chrome counter stools that spin!) and delicious ice cream choices (with more toppings than I can remember). Yummy!

They have amazing flavors that all taste amazing. They also carry between one and three sorbet flavors which are nothing but fruit, water and honey and great for people with allergies. This is it! All ice cream, sorbet and gelato is made right here behind the counter and the variety and taste experience cannot be missed. Flavors change according to season and the inventivness of Nick the Icecreamier (what DO you call someone who makes icecream?) .

We head over to the Spit Banana after evening performances at the Blackfriars Theatre. We really love the gelato. Last night there was quite a line at 10:30. A no rush environment, the staff takes the time to take care of each customer.
