Exquisite Food. Phenomenal Hospitality.

Excellent Angus burgers (8 oz of goodness). About 20 different burgers on the lunch menu as well as salads and other sandwiches. Sides of onion rings and fries were also great. The service was exceptional. Staff made you feel like you were at a high-end restaurant for dinner - not a burger lunch. And they know how to make perfect... More

Just spent the night at the Lafayette Inn. Very special in rural Virginia. Chef 10 course tasting was fantastic, of course with all the wine tastings as well a night in the inn was a requirement. Highly recommended. Chef Alan was gracious and educational about the wine pairings. His wife's breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend, would go again.

This was a trip for a group of girlfriends. We had such a great time at the Lafayette Inn. Alan and Kaye were such gracious hosts at their lovely historical inn and also phenomenally helpful in their input for where to visit for wineries and antique shops in the area. We were also lucky we got to pick a weekend... More

Our last stop while in VA - and we loved it. Breakfast to die for - we order the french toast and grits. Totally delicious.

We attended a special event hosted by Alan and Kaye Pyles with Guest Chef Elizabeth Cauvel from the Fox Master Chef show. The event was high spirited, the food was outstanding and the wine pairings excellent. Everything was great and all the details were covered. Alan presented his signature Shrimp and Grits while waiting for the entre and Elizabeth served... More

Fascinating Historic Inn. The service was outstanding and we appreciated the champagne and snack left in our room when we arrived. Dinner and wines were delicious and it was interesting to hear why he had chosen each wine. As Arnold says "we'll be back!"

I use TripAdvisor often and love the reviews. We drove 50 minutes each way to this restaurant expecting a great dinner date. I was a little concerned about the mixed reviews but have seen occas. negative reviews on other restaurants that I went to and enjoyed so we decided to chance it. We were disappointed: the Oyster appetizer didn't taste... More

We arrived to find a most gracious hostess who escorted us to a charming room with antique decor. The split of champagne and chocolate was a pleasant surprise( I was expecting cheese and crackers, as I read in another review). As it was 4:30, I went searching for an advertised happy hour which I never found. Not a problem, as... More

Let me begin by saying this is not a bad review, it's just not the great review I had hoped to write. First the good: the Inn dining room is lovely and the proprietors are also very nice. Alan is a well meaning self taught chef who clearly has a passion for his midlife crisis. I applaud his efforts. The... More
