This restaurant is in an old inn and has nice atmosphere. The wait staff was very friendly. The tables themselves are nice and not too close together. We stopped here for lunch while traveling through. I had the chicken pesto panini and my husband had a burger. Both were good, the burger was a little pricey. I think we would... More

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Lafayette Inn. Wonderful easy check in process. The staff was excellent throughout our visit. Dinner (the 10 course chef tasting) was amazing. Great food, perfect portions and the wine pairings complimented the food incredibly well. The owner, Alan, was extremely knowledgable and he did a great job leading the dinner.... More

One of the best welcomes I've had as a solo diner, especially on a Sunday evening when few locally owned, non-franchise places are open. Enjoyed the flatiron steak & took half of it back to my B&B for a picnic the next evening, which made the high price of the dinner much more reasonable.

I knew from the moment we arrived that this was going to be a wonderful experience. Alan is so friendly and informative! Our room (the Jefferson) was cozy and inviting. The 10 course chef tasting with wine pairings was thoroughly enjoyable, the food was absolutely delicious and we learned a great deal from Alan throughout the course of the evening.... More

My wife and I tried the 10 course tasting menu with wine pairing and cordial chef's inputs. We were blown away. The Inn and hospitality were peerless. Stay the night, enjoy the history and remember the delightful gormet experience.

Alan prepared a delicious 10-course dinner and the wines went with each dish perfectly. Plus, he was very knowledgeable about the area and gave us good tips about what to do the next day. A great place to spend a special event!

Spent 3 nights in the inn and did the 10 course chef's testing. The owner and chef was very accommodating because I don't eat meat but my husband does. Food and wine pairings were lovely and the breakfasts were all delicious. Accommodations were comfortable and spacious. Had a great long weekend exploring Charlotesville and surrounding area.

I purchased a 10 course chef's tasting, with some hesitation, I am not an adventurous eater. I can now HIGHLY recommend it! It was phenomenal, TREAT yourself and GO! It was the best Anniversary gift we have experienced in 27 years! Carolee

The admonition to come hungry and sober to the featured 10 course tasting meal should definitely be followed. You should also know that the evening will take about 2.5 hours but it is truly one of the best meals and evenings my wife and I have ever spent in a restaurant. Anywhere! Alan Pyles is a talented chef and a... More
