Alan prepared a delicious 10-course dinner and the wines went with each dish perfectly. Plus, he was very knowledgeable about the area and gave us good tips about what to do the next day. A great place to spend a special event!

Spent 3 nights in the inn and did the 10 course chef's testing. The owner and chef was very accommodating because I don't eat meat but my husband does. Food and wine pairings were lovely and the breakfasts were all delicious. Accommodations were comfortable and spacious. Had a great long weekend exploring Charlotesville and surrounding area.

I purchased a 10 course chef's tasting, with some hesitation, I am not an adventurous eater. I can now HIGHLY recommend it! It was phenomenal, TREAT yourself and GO! It was the best Anniversary gift we have experienced in 27 years! Carolee

The admonition to come hungry and sober to the featured 10 course tasting meal should definitely be followed. You should also know that the evening will take about 2.5 hours but it is truly one of the best meals and evenings my wife and I have ever spent in a restaurant. Anywhere! Alan Pyles is a talented chef and a... More

This visit was a surprise birthday gift from my husband. Gentlemen, if you want a great surprise for the woman in your life, this is it! The 10 course meal and wine pairing was fantastic! The owners were a lovely joy to encounter. A must go for B&B lovers everywhere!

My husband and I did the 10 course Chef Tasting to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and it was simply the best meal we have ever had! Our anniversary fell on a Tuesday and we lucked out being the ONLY couple that night which allowed for even a more intimate, memorable 3 hour dining experience with Chef Alan thoroughly explaining... We had dinner here and enjoyed excellent service and a great meal. I had a Brazilian beef dish, with the meat marinated in a lime and cilantro sauce. It was very good. My wife had a filet that was done to perfection. The wine list is impressive and the service was prompt and attentive. This is a good place.

The best part of our meal were the amazingly fresh salads, clearly from local gardens, with champagne vinaigrette. This is a funny historic hotel, right on the main street. The service is good and friendly and the food is a bit overpriced. It is good not great, but there are not many options in tiny Stanardsville, near the entrance to... More

My boyfriend purchased a deal from livingsocial to stay here and to participate in the 10 course dinner for two. We were very excited because not many places provide pairings with each meal course. We had such a fantastic time! We were greeted with a small bottle of champagne for two and goldfish crackers :) Dinner was amazing as well... More
