Great GERMAN Food

This is the first truly authentic German restaurant I've ever been to. Service and food were great, it's small but they make you feel at home. It borders on fine dining, quantities are huge though. We really enjoyed it. We met up with some friends that were at Quantico. Some of the food we had was... read more

Nicely decorated and wait staff wears traditional German clothing. Meals are individually prepared, so enjoy some German beer or wine while you wait. The big pretzel make a great appetizer, enough for two people. A little pricey, but worth it, especially for special occasions.

We visited Zum Rheingarten for the first time tonight. The restaurant was definitely authentic, and the food was Wunderbar.! We ordered, Potato pancakes, they were pretty decent, a bavarian pretzel, that was very good indeed, and the Goulash Soup, the Goulash Soup was the best we have tried in all the different German Restaurants.! Our entres were Jagerschnitzel, and a... More

We visited with friends for Dinner on a Saturday evening. As suggested we had made a reservation. It was crowded when we arrived and so quite noisy. The Restaurant had asked if it was a "special occasion" when we called - it was simply our intention to have a good and authentic German meal with friends. Our table was marked... More

Excellent little part of Germany right here in Stafford County Virginia...Real German food, Real German people, Real German Beer. Have eaten here several times over the years and never had a bad meal or bad experience. We enjoyed the new outside beer garden last summer on a Friday afternoon and enjoyed music and a great meal. Love going in the... More

The food was simply wonderful. Fresh, tasty, German food. My husband and mom both enjoyed the beer selection. I had an amazing glass of may punch. Every one loved the food. The chocolate cake was to die for. Only thing I did not like is they have don't have milk for kids. The kids menu was a little small. But... More

This is an authentic German restaurant. The owner is from Germany and goes back to Germany every year to visit their family. We have lived in Heidelberg, Germany in the 70 and know what authentic German food should taste like. I highly recommend this delightful restaurant.

Best choice between Old Europe (DC) and Bavarian Chef (Fredericksburg) in regards to quality German food (and more choices) and reasonable price. Need to add more German decor to give the ambience of being in Germany. Never crowded and always great service.

We stopped here for lunch on our way home. Since we are not from the area had a little trouble finding the place. Our server was very polite and helpful with the menu. Both our meals were pretty good, my wife had the home fries with her meal and they were very good, I opted for the spatezel and they... More
