This place has closed. Owners selling building. Doing mission work. Was okay before but a little crowded. There are several places on Main Street that are good for lunch or dinner. Taste of Smithfield-Gourmet Bakery-Smithfield Inn good alternatives.

We stopped by Julie's shop and were saddened to hear that she has put her business up for sale. She has been called by God to do some missionary work. She told us a story about how she had to stop preparing food for the shop due to her allergies. She still has an extensive inventory of teas and tea... More

My husband and I enjoyed a delightful lunch here last weekend. Their homemade soups and tarts are extraordinary! Julie explains the menu quite well so you know what you are getting. My broccoli cheddar tart was very yummy! Unfortunately they will not be serving tables soon as they are changing to a cooking school and offering food to go. It... More

My sister and our two friends were out for a "girls day out." We came upon OWTC on our self guided walking tour of Smithfield. We were excited about the menu and the fact that my friend's special diet was easily accomodated. We sat in the upstairs dining area, and never felt forgotten or abandoned. The staff are very friendly... More

OWTC has an intimate and warm atmosphere and if weather permits, enjoy taking luncheon outside. From their soups, sandwiches, teas, and desserts, you leave quite full. They keep an exotic selection of teas and baked goods worthy of a must visit in Smithfield or the region.

My husband and I have been stopping at the Olde World Tea Co since they opened and everything they have is wonderful! All of their food is homemade and they readily cater to every appetite, dietary need and taste of the day. The first time you walk into the door, you might be a stranger, but you become a friend... We have been eating at the Tea Shoppe for years, and even though we have moved, we still drive back to Smithfield for the fresh, yummy food! I love the tarts, my husband always enjoys the soups, and the children's favorites are the scones and the tea bites! It is by far our favorite restaurant in Smithfield!

I've been visiting Julie and Carlos' shop since they opened and it's always a delight. The original artwork is tastefully arranged. The tea-related and other goodies for sale are fun to browse through. The loose tea selection is amazing, and I never leave the shop without a few ounces for later. I try to plan my visits to include lunch... More

As tea lovers we were on a quest to find the "Olde World Tea Co.". Just prior to the visit we visited the local "Food Lion" grocery store. I noticed the tea "P&G", a favorite of mine, I noticed the price@ $3.99 for 40 tea bags. When we arrive at the "Olde World Tea Co.", we browsed and they had... More

This place is amazing! The service was great and the owner was so sweet! The "TARTS" were amazing and the deserts were out of this world!
