I grew up eating Mac & Bob's food. There are many things which are delicious - the calzones are great, the Philly cheesesteak/Chicken Phillys are wonderful, the Salem salad is delicious (I love the ranch dressing!). However, the menu can be very hit and miss. I'd avoid the ribs like the plague. The owners are from New York - if... More

Ate dinner as a party of 10. Good service. Good food. Least favorite item was basil chicken sandwich. It was a little bland. Asked for more basil mayo. Calzones were good!

Here's the summary: Restaurant Impossible needs to visit this place. Dirty (dust on the windowsills that looks like it has been there for awhile. Dark, dingy, and the food was very mediocre. I expected more from this restaurant that is in the the charming town of Salem.

This is a local hangout where regulars are treated well but others not so much. We stopped while on a trip. Ordered food. Our waitress talked to some locals for several minutes and then guess what...our food came out cold. My wife's cheese fries had globs of unmelted cheese. I had a Caesar salad swimming in dressing. Pub atmosphere. Can... More

If I could give it negative stars I would. Not clean, flies everywhere. Husband had the cheese and vegetable panini. Since when are tomato, lettuce and cucumber considered "roasted vegetables"? The cucumber still had the skin on it an the lettuce was yellow. It was disgusting. I tried the French onion soup. Covered in some tasteless plastic cheese. The whole... More

First of all I travel for a living and eat at very many restaurants all the time. I took my family there and no one liked there food. I ordered nacho's first and they came out of a bag. When I placed my order for the food I ordered a salad and a burger and ask for the salad to... More

Tried this place twice and am definitely a fan! Great craft beer selection, and great deal for beer flights. The food is pretty good and lots of seating. The outside seating is a great atmosphere! Try it out!

Popular with families, business crowd for lunch and big college following Mac and Bob's is a local institution. Food is excellent with a variety of sandwiches ,quiche and salads. My personal favorite is Katie's salad with poppyseed dressing. Outdoor seating area is great. Service is excellent most days . Weekends can be crowded if college crowd is around. Summer is the... Visited the restaurant for lunch on a Saturday...looked like the whole town was there! The crowd was boisterous and loud and all seemed to be having fun. I ordered a vegetable panini which turned out to be a very greasy grilled vegetable sandwich. It took approximately 45 minutes to make this sandwich.
