I have been coming here for many years. Famous Anthony's has invaded the area and is a good breakfast spot, but I still prefer the food at this spot.

The blueberry syrup is good. However, I agree with the VERY tough pancake assessment. Also, my over easy eggs were way overdone, as was the bacon. Coffee was decent. DO NOT pay $3.99 for the hash browns all the way. While they tasted good, the serving size was very small and they had a slice of cheese on them vs.... More

Remember Pancake House and previous owners. They were excellent, to die for food. New owners are good, but not like the old days. Food is still very good, but not homemade like it used to be. Good cheeseburgers and fries. Can get dinners or quick meals. Would recommend, a little pricey.

Since I go right past this place to and from work I sometimes stop in for breakfast. The service is always very good if a bit slow and the coffee is good. The only problem I have is with the pancakes! They are always tough! I have discussed this with the wait staff on a number of occasions and asked... More

On good reviews my wife and I decided to give the Pancake house a try. The place is clean and the service is friendly enough but food and portions are just average. It is nice that with your eggs and meat you can chose toast, biscuit , or silver dollar pancakes but if you want taters it will cost you... More

If you like Waffle House, this place looks the same inside and out, and even has a similar menu layout. They do have different items though. Overall the breakfast we had was a great value and very well prepared. The waitress we had was fun also. I would go out of my way to eat breakfast here again.

It looks like a little hole in the wall place but don't let that fool you. It's one of the best breakfast places I've been to. I got the silver dollar pancake breakfast with eggs and bacon. I knew the regular sized pancakes would be too much for me. My husband got one of the big pancake breakfast plates then... More

Very overpriced. I ordered a salad there and it was almost 8$ and once I got it home there was a handful of lettuce, a few tomatoes, onion, and cucumber. Basically a side salad. Nothing that I have ever gotten there has been stellar. I would rather go somewhere else.

Tourist in town looking for local breakfast fare and found it at the Pancake House at 1840 Apperson Drive in Salem VA. Wife had eggs with toast and homefries (which was excellent, but not anything really special. I had pecan pancakes with side of hashbrowns with onions. Pecan pancakes were OUTSTANDING!; lots of pecans and very tasty. Made to order... More
