Always good

Rockfish is another of our local favorites. The food is always good as is the wine list. The addition of a mixed drink license has added to the charm. Although Rockfish draws from all around the valley. I think that they still have live music on Sunday evenings. Oh, yeah, good brunch, too.

Rockfish reflects the special charm of Grandin Village and the Raleigh Court section of Roanoke. Rockfish is not the only good neighborhood restaurant in the Village. It is the type and quality of restaurant that you expect to find in a major city or a trendy tourist town. SURPRISE - you are in Roanoke (a real place). Rockfish is small,... More

My wife and I have eaten at some of the finest restaurants the world over . . . Paris, Barcelona, Munich, New York, San Francisco. This little place in Grandin Village, Roanoke, Virginia . . . is fine indeed. World Class cuisine, great wine selection, nice décor, every table a good one, good service . . . what more could... We stopped for a light dinner. The menu had many interesting items. We decided on the Low-country Crab Cakes and the cheese platter. Both were prepared well. The staff was friendly and helpful. The deco was in keeping with other shops in the Grandin Village. We will stop here again

We stopped at this place on a whim last evening for dinner and were impressed with the entire package. It was "Soul Food" night (Thursday) and we had blackened catfish, black eyed peas, corn bread and succotash. The service, with only two servers who also staffed the bar, was excellent and attentive. We loved the quaint neighborhood atmosphere in the... More

This restaurant is located in the Grandin Village shopping area of Roanoke City, an old established neighborhood with lots of small shops, restaurants, a fresh market and a nice theater. It is very safe and a nice area to stroll through. The restaurant is about 1/2 way on the Grandin Road shopping area. It is nicely decorated and has a... More

We had dinner this past weekend with 2 friends from Wash. DC. Service was good and food was good, not great, only good. I enjoyed a daily "special" soft shell crab entree, which was prepared well and presentation was excellent. I found the menu somewhat limited, but it seemed our guests were pleased. Prices were about average for this area.... More

A nice, reliable place with good service and good food, but nothing to set it apart., It is easy to get to and street parking is readily available. There are several somewhat similar restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

I picked this place after hearing some rave reviews from some coworkers. We didn't have a reservation, but decided to go early enough to ensure seating. The hostess was surprised we didn't have a reservation and hesitated to seat us at first. Mind you, there was only one other person in the restaurant when we arrived. Magically, they found a... By ok, I mean "just ok". The food was good but nothing above. My family of five all ordered different items. No one had a bad meal but no one walked away raving about it either. Upon entering the person at the door asked if we had a reservation and, even though the restaurant was nearly empty, gave us a... More
