A Star City "secret"

While hotel dining often isn't very tasty & the locals recall E.Walk as a "pick up bar" from years ago, the current E. Walk is a good dining spot ! Holiday buffets, Sunday brunch, lunch & dinner have a good variety of menu items-- great salads/appetizers, yummy crab cakes, healthy alternatives... read more

Couldnt understand the word pop , even after my husband spelling it out. Ordered two pizzas delivered to our room to our family of 6, was only given two plates, charged 10 dollars more than our menu said... (thats some high taxes ! ) VERY dissapointed.

That's right, we were given only a single fork to eat our salad and main course with. I thought maybe it was an accident, so I specifically set my fork on the salad plate, thinking the waiter would take it with the plate and bring me a clean one . . . but he actually took the fork off the... More

Haven't been to the Elephant Walk since the 80's. Don't have any friends or aquiantances that have eaten there. Was going out with friends and we grabbed a $20 Groupon voucher for $11 and decided to give the restaurant a try. It use to be very elegant in the 80's. Surprised when we entered the restaurant to find the bar... More

Prices were extremely reasonable for being a restaurant attached to a hotel, and the food was surprisingly upscale for a city planted in the middle of a mostly rural region. I had my doubts about the she-crab soup when I saw it on the menu... we are talking southwestern Virginia here, not Baltimore.. and then I ended up ordering it... More

the food was great and the staff was friendly however we were a group of 2 in the restaurant where there were only 3 other people and it felt like it took forever to get our food. We ordered basic sandwiches and were surprised by the wait. However, the quality of the food was great.

While I have to say that food was very good. The service left a lot to be desired. We were staying at the hotel the restaurant is attached to for Mysticon this past weekend. The restaurant seemed very understaffed for the 1500+ conference attendees that where on hand. We had a two hour window between panels that we were on... More

The food was just ok, the gentleman who waited on me was very nice and personable. The bar was stocked with locals who were having a good time. I would not go back, but for an inexpensive place to eat, it's a choice

The bar staff were very friendly; however, also sitting at the bar was a very ill person who turned out to be the kitchen staff of the restaurant. We had planned to eat there, but after learning that he was the one who would be handling our food, we went elsewhere. It's a shame that people are forced to work... More

We dined here the first night of our stay, as we did not feel like driving around. We noticed the bar had several patrons, and the bartender told us to seat ourselves! I was expecting a waitress to come out and greet us, but the bartender finally walked over and took our drink order! He also took our food order... More
