A Touch of New Orleans

This is a restaurant in the heart of downtown Roanoke. The overall theme is New Orleans. They have a very ornate bar with lots of New Orleans/Marti Gras decorations. They have a nice outdoor seating area. Our lunch group sat in the patio area. We all ordered different lunch items. One of the... read more

Let's cut to the chase. Food- 5 (out of 5) Atmosphere- 5 Staff- 5 Item ordered: gumbo It was pleasantly spicy. Texture was thick and saucy. Plenty of sausage, chicken and shrimp. Rice was cooked to perfection; not to crunchy or soft. Fries: Fries were beer battered and delicious. Crispy and flavorful. I also got honey mustard (house made) and... More

My husband took me to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. We did not have a reservation but were seated outside (which we wanted ) very quickly. Our waiter was a young man who answered all of our questions. My husband ordered the crawfish etouffee which was wonderful. I ordered the Jambalaya which was a huge disappointment. It was supposed... My colleague were looking for non-traditional touristy food, and on the recommendation of the bellboy at the hotel, we tried the food here. Just a short picturesque walk from the hotel, we were surprised by the fantastic Louisiana style seafood offerings in Roanoke VA. I had a shrimp Po-Boy which easily could have served three people.

We visited here for dinner on a Friday night and were seated on the patio. A selection of Louisiana craft beer was offered; the porter style was delicious. We enjoyed our appetizer of blackened alligator bites, served with two yummy dips. I got the blackened red snapper served with a decadent bourbon maple sweet potato mash. It was dinner and... More

I have a goat cheese salad favorite - exclusively - so not a broad base of experience here! I love coming for lunch. Not too noisy. Service was great - ambience suits me to a "t!" No problem getting in and out during my lunch hour. A downtown luncheon restaurant favorite for me!

We were wandering about the centre of Roanoke trying to decide where to eat when we heard the strains of good music coming from somewhere...... The somewhere turned out to be The Quarter, and the music was provided by Andy and Rich, a duo who perform some great stuff, much if which they have composed and recorded themselves. The staff... Recently had dinner at the Quarter with a colleague from out of town. We were seated right away. They have a nice variety of New Orleans cuisine. I like the jambalaya and shrimp and grits. Our dinners came promptly and were well prepared. The Quarter is one of my "stand bys" in downtown Roanoke.

We visited here twice during our stay in Roanoke. The food was excellent on both occasions. We had red snapper and the salmon dishes. We also tried an Aligator starter too. Well you have to eh? It was really nice. Blackened with spices. The atmosphere was great with live music and the price of a glass of house wine very... More
