Best Breakfast In Roanoke

We were a family party of 5 and we were seated immediately unlike waiting in line on my last visit a couple of months ago. Everyone was pleased with our meals and the famous biscuits really impressed me because I didn't think that were that great on last visit. It took a while to get our food as... read more

Great Southern style breakfast plates like Virginia ham and biscuits to die for! We always go for special days like birthdays or guests in town.

When I am in the Roanoke area I sometimes get together with friends at the Roanoker to catch up with them. We almost always meet there for breakfast, so I really cannot comment on the restaurant's lunches and suppers. The food is fairly simple - what one would expect for a restaurant of this type. (I do have friends who... More

Lunch is fabulous! Highly recommend the ham and cheese biscuits (which are southern and delectable). Also recommend the yeast rolls with everything else you get. Must have the turkey (it's fresh), dressing, and mashed potatoes. Hint: if you like chicken fingers, ask for the non-frozen kind and they will make them from scratch for you. And they are sooooo good.... More

This was my second visit in 14 months. The service was very good and my booth was comfortable. There were few diners when I entered at dinner time. I rather liked my first meal here about a year ago. However, this time (a Monday night), the menu seemed to have nothing out of the ordinary. I ordered turkey with dressing... More

My wife and I eat breakfast out a lot. Our number one favorite place in Roanoke is the Roanoker Restaurant. No one can tough their biscuits. They are light and fluffy and they actually have risen and are not flat as many of the other places serve. The pancakes are large and excellent as are the eggs, bacon and gravy.I'm picky and... More

We moved here from San Diego a couple years ago, tried the Roanoker early on as it was clearly popular. We found it lacking and when they gave me veggies unambiguously cooked right from the veggie bags you get in the grocery store with the fat carrots and such... tasting pretty uninteresting, they lost me. I'm not one who likes... More

This southwest county favorite family restaurant is open all day. Breakfast is one of the most popular meals here and on the weekends there is always a line. The food is good and service is by seasoned wait staff. For lunch and dinner be sure to try a salad with the house dressing (the ingredients are a closely held secret).... More

Eating at the Roanoker was a mistake. The menu had very little selections. They are noted for their fried chicken but nowhere to be found on the menu. I guess I was expecting chicken breast, thigh, leg, and wing. Instead maybe it is their chicken fillet. If so It was same old same old. Service and cleanliness was ok. The... More

I was looking for a good breakfast venue while in Roanoke on a recent Sunday. Stumbled on the Roanoker on Google. Easily seated at 9AM. Excellent waitress. Very good coffee! 2 eggs OE, Baked apples, toast done right (buttered) and fluffy pancakes! Everything was served fast and HOT! I love places like this. Always locally popular! Don't miss this restaurant.... More
