Always busy, mostly older crowd. Specials are good, just plain home style cooking. Bar drinks, not so hot. Best bacon, lettuce tomato sandwich in town. I don't care for their fries so I opt for a side of potato salad. Breakfast good too.

This past Thanksgiving we secured the assistance of the Ronaoker for some of our trimmings to the dinner. Honestly, I was skeptical at first, but was assured they were as good as homemade. Well they were better! (Sorry Mom!) Their stuffing and gravy were wonderful and better than homemade, especially when you consider no cooking! We also enjoyed the Waldorf... More

The Roanoker Restaurant has been a Roanoke institution for over 60 years. It has long been the standard for great food three meals a day, a family-friendly atmosphere and a convenient location right off I-581 near Towers Mall. Although the prices have increased over those 60+ years (original menus in the lobby show entrees with sides priced at 50 cents),... More

This is a hot spot for the elderly crowd. My husband and I do fit that description...but we are young for our years. The food was serviceable, not outstanding. My salad was iceberg lettuce, a few veggies, grilled chicken. My husband had turkey, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. The server was excellent, efficient and friendly.

Lived in Roanoke many years ago. Remembered the restaurant and how it was known for breakfast. Even thought it is in new location the food, ambiance, value and staff friendliness is even better than I remember. It is worth you while to look it up on Garmin or other locator software and give it a try. You will not be... More

These folks have been doing a fantastic job of preparing a great variety of really delicious food for quite a long time. Their menu includes something for everyone, and the portions are quite ample. All of this is served by a very friendly staff in a comfy decor.

I had the pleasure of meeting the owner ( Butch) who was so very sweet. I drove all the way from Indiana for the biscuit recipe. She sat with me and we talked as I told her the story behind why i came for the recipe. She was so gracious and said I could come back in the morning and... More

My whole family was very happy with everything we ate! I had the turkey and dressing. I wasn't so find of the cranberry sauce. The Mac and cheese was okay.

I went for the renowned biscuits and gravy. Very good, although truthfully I'm not a connoisseur of that type of food. Good coffee with free refills.
