My friend and I saw the Irish flag and decided to stop in on Saturday night. The atmosphere was very casual and laid back. I was excited to see Smithwicks on tap! They also had Guinness, Harp, and Magner's Irish Cider, along with a few local brews. We got cheese curds, which are like mozzarella sticks, but way better. Our... More

A year ago around December 13th, my girlfriend and I were pleasantly surprised with this place. It was great, as the service was friendly and prompt, the cheese curds were great, and the beer was good as well. Also, the band jamming on Christmas songs added to the atmosphere. However, we returned this year, attempting to experience the great atmosphere... More

I visited Flanary's on a recent Saturday afternoon. The place was nearly empty, but there were several TVs with sports on, and plenty of good beer on tap. Dark atmosphere and crowd comes here but usually late at night. Typical Irish bar food if you like greasy. Good beers on tap. Fun to come and watch soccer from time to time and have a beer.

Been to this place three times. I have to say this is the worst excuse for an Irish Pub I have ever been to. For starters on St. Patrick's Day they did not have any Irish music. Besides Guinness and a local Roanoke brew all of their beers are tailor made corporate breweries. The staff is out of control. The... More

Expect your stereotypical Irish pub -- dark interior, most patrons at the bar, standard selection of Irish-esque eats, good beers on tap. Not fancy, but comfortable.
