I'm basing this review on just one lunch-- a detour during a business trip based on other glowing reviews here. While I can't comment on a wide array of menu items, I found everything about this restaurant appealing. The ambience is warm and inviting, my beef brisket sandwich was excellent and flavorful, Hannah (my server) was very friendly and attentive,... More

This is a delightful place! My dad and I ate lunch there and had the soup and salad and the fish and chips. My salad was the best salad I think I have ever had. The sweet potato soup was likewise delicious. Dad's fish and chips were great too. The wait staff is SUPER friendly and the atmosphere is homey... More

Wonderful meal! You won't be disappointed. Everyone in our party loved their food. Local, fresh ingredients, very nicely prepared. We will definitely be making reservations for the next time we are in town! Nice nice server as well.

The concept and ambiance of this (farm to table) restaurant is fantastic. The owners are warm, attentive, and genuine. The servers are honest and want you to have a great experience. The food is tasty. With that said - I believe you should come try it. But, be aware that some parts of the meal were a bit small for... More

I was in town last week for work and before I left I wanted some local flavor. I got there a little early (they open at 11:30am during the week) so I spent time shopping the local businesses and food co-op. I was greeted when they opened and had the most fabulous squash soup. It was flavorful and wonderful aroma.... More

Nice farm to table experience! Went for Sunday dinner (family style with pre decided menu) . Food was great and very fresh! Able to accommodate a gluten free and vegetarian diet. The thing I enjoyed most about it, was that I left there knowing I would never have a dish like that anywhere else! Unique! I would return again!

You don't typically find a restaurant this good in a small city like Roanoke. But I can only assume its proximity to so many farms and its focus on farm-to-table food has given this restaurant a distinct advantage. The food was excellent - simple dishes made with perfectly chosen ingredients and interesting flavor combinations. When I complimented my chicken (easily... More

Just returned from s. France and this place is just as good. Excellent food, wine selection, & service. Only issue is the noise level, just too high for relaxing meal. Small plates are plenty and presentation is nice. Certainly 5 stars if you can ignore the noise, which you can't, 3.5 to 4 stars overall.

During an overnight stay along the highway I-81 traveling from up north (NYC) to Fort Lauderdale, we wanted something other than a chain restaurant. This was off the beaten path and well worth the 15 car ride. Nice ambiance, friendly & attentive service, not overbearing. Decent wine list with a few local varieties that paired nicely with the oysters (outstanding... More

We went for brunch and they had a lot to live up to as we had just been to the Blue Apron and Red Rooster in Salem the night before (see my review) and it was beyond perfect in every way. I had made brunch reservations because I expected this place would be very popular and am glad we did... More
