Great Ribs

Stopped in here with my son for dinner. I went with the evening special fish and chips that I thought rather reasonably priced and although the fish was not what I was expecting (read pre-packaged and frozen) it was none less good and I was satisfied. The ribs were awesome, basted in apple butter... read more

Cute little bar decked out it blues posters and instruments. Stopped in for lunch on Sunday before leaving Roanoke. We ordered: fried chicken club with a side of okra, Memphis pulled pork and side salad, Carolina pulled pork and okra, and a side of hush puppies (we ordered them as an appetizer). Everything was wonderful. The "side" of hush puppies... More

Cool and hip place in the cool part of downtown Roanoke. Very bluesy atmosphere with exposed brick etc. Service was very good and our server was helpful in guiding us to what's good or better on the menu. The side salads are big and the dinner portions are larger than normal. I had the brisket - very good. Fried Okra... More

Had lunch with another couple. Food was good, portion size ok. Have heard weekday lunch is great. Seating is a bit limited but if you like it cozy, then this is your place.

A great place to eat, good service and nice atmosphere. The barbeque and fried pickles are awesome. One of my favorites when visiting the downtown area.

Went here to grab a quick lunch and ended up taking a lot longer than I had thought. The Memphis bbq sandwich and fried okra were outstanding, however, we had to wait forever for our food to get out. If they could cut that time in half, this would definitely be a 5 star review.

I was really disappointed when I ate the Bourbon St. Louis Ribs. First of all I never had see them prepared and served the way they were, it looked liked 3 chicken legs. There was no smoke ring on the meat, had no smoked taste and were not tender. They may have been cooked over a wooden fired grilled but... More

What more can a girl want?!? Good drinks and great food, I was in heaven. I got the brisket but everything I watched come out looked and smelled amazing. The drinks are strong and the waitresses were friendly and happy to make recommendations. I wish this was by me back home.

Truly enjoyed the appetizers a trio of grit cakes, hush puppies and fried green tomatoes. . These were served hot and delicious. We both ordered the NC BBQ sandwich. The meat was tender and moist but, under seasoned for my liking, some Texas Pete would have helped but they only had Tabasco. BBQ was served on a made fresh bakery... More
