In the tradition of Italy's trattorias, the sight, sounds and aromas of authentic Italian cuisine are recreated fresh everyday at Il Fornaio. Literally "the baker" in Italian, Il Fornaio offers wood-fired rotisserie and grilled meats, poultry and game; housemade and imported pastas; pizzas from a wood burning oven; fresh salads and housemade soups; antipasti and a wide variety of desserts made daily from scratch. The first two weeks of each month a special menu from a different region of Italy is featured as part of Festa Regionale.

Il Fornaio

Good for business lunch dinner, also nice family dinner place. Moderately priced. Good selections, good service. Have not tried their outdoor dinning yet. Will return.

This comfortable upscale looking restaurant serves incredible selections of appetizers to full menu options that are for the gourmet worthy or those with more simple palates. The service was Excellent! They also offer gluten free options. Can't wait to return for Brunch. The menu and the pictures look AMAZING!

Many people rave about the food here, but I am usually underwhelmed. The bar area can get very crowded for happy hour but thinks out fast. It is designed with lots of little pockets and a bar that faces a wall of liquor. Not a great design for meeting new people.

Love this place. pricey but the food and the service is the pain. Fixed price meals are very good but not offered too often.

We had a private group lunch here after a wedding rehearsal and the staff was fantastic. They were attentive but kept out of the way. The food was well presented and tasted as good as it looked. Some of the best tiramisu we have ever had.

If you want "true Italian" - stay away. The place is big and service is good (I'll give them that). But "Italian" this is not. It's somebody's idea of Italian; a take on Italian... and a poor one at that. The pizza crust is like Afghan flatbread. Tomato sauce smothers whatever it covers. Of course, if lots of tomato sauce... We have been to this restaurant during prior visits to Virginia but, never took advantage of the "Happy Hour" (even held during a holiday weekend)!. The bar has a certain charm and the bartenders are incredible. Had a great time, enjoyed some fabulous $6 appetizers and those Mango Mojitos were out of this world. Dinner in the dining room was... We eat here several times a year, most recently twice in April, and it always satisfies. Nice selections, with regional specialties that swap out every month, and a good wine list. They never rush us through our meals, so we can linger like we were in Italy; my family, friends and I choose this place for birthday celebrations for that... More

This restaurant looks like the classic Italian restaurant but the chef has made and effort to slightly change the classic dishes and in my opinion improve on them. not cheap but a friendly atmosphere

Not sure what to say, really. Authentic Italian it's not. I have been to Italy often enough to know that this is an American take on Italian. The couple behind us were talking about how authentic it was because there was a pizza oven. That's now what makes a place Italian. Let's not forget that pizza is not all-Italian. And... More
