We went on a Monday night when they opened at 5pm. Easy curbside free parking. Our waiter, Skip, was phenomenal! Very knowledgeable about the menu & the specials. Very professional, efficient & friendly! Hubby had the lobster Gabriel & I had the fried shrimp, both were excellent! Seafood was cooked to perfection, fresh sautéed spinach & the BEST hush puppies... More

First of all it was our first visit but definitely will not be the last, we were greeted at the door and they were hoping busy. I didn't expect a whole lot but boy was I surprised, the food was great, the service was impeccable and you can't beat the prices. I had broiled scallops, our friends had fried shrimp,... More

Located in Olde Towne Portsmouth, the decor and size are quaint! Indicative of the area. The food and service are out of this world! They have undoubtedly the best flounder, fried oysters but our now favorite dish is the CRAB MEAT PORTSMOUTH!!!! The crab puffs for appetizers are the best! Again service is the best also! Becoming our favorite local... More

Lobscouser is not a big place, and it fills up fast. (Also, if you are on the frugal side, the early bird special is $8.99 for an entree and two sides, and they brought us a bowl of hush puppies. Back when I lived in the area, I went to Lobscouser occasionally, but I hadn't been back in years. I... More

After spending the week in Baltimore MD working a trade show and eating overpriced Baltimore seafood, I suggested to the wine queen that we head to Lobscouser. Boy, am I glad we did! In Baltimore, I was paying $36 for a decent bottle of wine. We got decent wine at Lobscouser for $12 per bottle. Not fancy stuff, but quite... More

We have been here several times and never had a bad meal. The prices are reasonable, service is good, staff is friendly. What's not to like???? It is always busy at dinner so it is best to make a reservation. It is a little small but we will continue to go here as it is one of our favorite places... More

Better food, less expensive, quieter! We ended up here after learning of the hour + wait at the chain. We were very happy with the quality and quantity of the food. The Hushpuppies are fabulous. Every dish, we were a party of 6, was great. Even the biggest teen boys were full. Skip the house wine...boring. Service was fine but... More

I was in Portsmith for a weekend convention. Lobscouser was recommend by a friend from the Norfolk area, so I made a 6:30 p.m. reservation on Friday night. Arrived at the restaurant at 6:35 p.m. The place was packed. We were asked to wait. We waited for about 20 minutes, but it was worth it. It turns out that there... More

Took my sis in law here for lunch, her choice. Very small place, but surprisingly yummy food for very reasonable prices. I am a a bit critical, so if I am pleased, I think you would be too! Nice area to walk around in, lots of shops and historical sites, would definitely go back for lunch again and I hear... More
