We love the eclectic offerings at this restaurant. The menu has many items that are twists on a regular item that is suprising. The foods are always fresh and flavorful. We usually use a Groupon card when we go to stretch our wallet a little further.

This was one of the worst restaurants I've been to. The price of the food was not worth it. I took my 5 yr old daughter and they didn't have a menu for her. Our waitress was not friendly. This place doesn't deserve a star...sorry.

The Stove is a small restaurant with creative dishes that are always fresh. I had the "visiting fish" which was a delicious rockfish and my husband had their signature dish which is shrimp and grits. The bread they serve prior to the meal is the best bread you will ever taste! The wines are fantastic. Service is always supurb. Treat... More

Went to Stove on a friends recommendation. Kinda hard to find, but well worth the effort! Menu was so interesting I couldn't decide so took the tasting menu. So did my daughter - basically we split the difference and picked off each other's plates. Everything we tasted - EVERYTHING - was absolutely delectable. Cannot speak to the alcohol choices because... More

This restaurant is why Tripadvisor is my "Go to" app for finding good food in new locations. I travel a lot for business and like to get some of the local flavor wherever I go as opposed to eating at chain restaurants. Stove is a perfect example of local flavor. I walked in with a business associate and was asked... More

My husband and I used to go here every month. The food is amazing, service is lovely too. Love the seasonal changes in the menu and the bartenders really know what the are doing. A hidden gem...literaly.

I really like Stove, and it's our go-to place in the area for a celebratory meal. It is not perfect, but it is very, very good. The service is great unless you get the dark-haired lady-- then you just have to kill her with kindness, and she is nice to you. The interior design is totally wacky. If taxidermy freaks... More

A great find in the historic district of Portsmouth. Has very unusual eclectic decor, small and suggest 2 seatings per evening. But the food is exceptional with a southern fusion flair. It's great for couples, romantic and with wonderful service. High recommendation.

Four of us dinner here last night and it was fabulous. The place was packed, but our server was on it, from the drinks, bread, apps, dinner and dessert. I had the fish special, Barramundi, and I loved it. Also, we had the beef tenderloin, etouffee, a veggie dish and 2 desserts. The Cougar lounge was at full capacity and... More

Do yourself a favor and call ahead for reservations. It's not a big restaurant and chances are if you just show up on a Friday or Saturday evening, you likely won't get an opportunity to enjoy. My fiancée and I have been there a few times now, and it only seems to get better. The bartender knows how to make... More
