The Best Independent Coffee Shoppe in Portsmouth

I always look for independent coffee shops to give me personality and a local flavor. The Coffee Shoppe is it for Portsmouth. Coffee drinks are great. Sweets are tasty. I favor the scones. I had a Panini sandwich one day and a flat bread pizza another. They were both good. Free WiFi.

This little independent coffee shop...although the name could be better and more descriptive is a great little place in Olde Towne Portsmouth. On the land where this coffee shop now sits once stood a stone house that Benedict Arnold used as his headquarters after defecting to the British Army circa 1781. A sign identifying the spot that once hung on... More

I visited The Coffee Shop for lunch and had a very good experience. I had the "Gobbler" flatbread sandwich and enjoyed it immensely. My daughter chose the "Elvis", a banana, granola and peanut butter sandwich on wheat bread. She said it was very good. The Coffee Shop has a friendly, neighborhood charm and I would be happy to eat there... More

Great coffee and place to meet with someone or sit and get some work done. Light lunch and breakfast are good too.

Friendly staff, good coffee, good food and a wonderful neighborhood atmosphere. This shop has been a staple since 2012. Keep up the great work!

Good service freshly brewed java and soy products. The trail mix cookies is on point. Aldo free wifi and firefly staff. It is great place to have light lunch or late breakfast.

Good atmosphere and coffee. Not the greatest selections for lunch. It's convenient after a trip to the Children's Museum.

If there is anywhere you can find me along with good friends is The Coffee Shoppe in Olde Towne Portsmouth. Great Selection and Atmosphere. Boaters must also seek them out when you dock at the waterfront.

I was greeted with such delight by the man and woman behind the counter, the service was fantastic and so was the Latte, chia tea but mostly my daughter loved their Breakfast sandwich. A must for anyone looking for a breakfast spot better than the commercial coffee shops

We enjoyed breakfast today at The Coffee Shoppe. The staff was friendly, helpful, efficient, and willing to accommodate my needs. The interior has artwork by local artists and has a relaxed feel to the place. My breakfast burrito, sans eggs was delicious and my mocha was what I needed it to be, caffeinated, chocolaty, and not too sweet. If they... More
