A neat place to visit whether you are young or old. It will take you back in time and provide fun for the kids as well. We take out-of-town visitors to the Swinging Bridge, but we enjoy it, too. For us the trip there is either over the WV mountains into VA or through back roads of VA past a buffalo farm - a delight either way. The food is good, the atmosphere unique, and the folks are friendly. My favorite is the "almost favorite" Paint... More

As usual, our food was good. The pinto beans were stewed and had a nice flavor. The potatoes were fried with onions and cooked perfectly. The bison sandwich was also very tasty and seasoned well. They can get busy but there is lots to do both inside and out.

I have went to the Swinging Bridge Restaurant two times. The first time they were so busy we had two wait about two hours to be seated, of course we did not make reservations & I am not sure that is an option. They had ran out of numerous items on the menu. For instance fried chicken & hot apple... More

Party of 4 adults and 3 kids, we had a fairly long wait but it wasn't that bad because there was so much to look at and they have beautiful yard with corn hole and horse shoes for kids to play with. We all ordered steak. Two of the steaks were brought to us cooked wrong. Mine was way overcooked,... More

One of us wanted the Trout dinner, but they were out of trout. The chicken was juicy, and the bison stew (Buffalo Trail Stew) was like beef stew, except with bison, and good. The salads were your average salad. The House-Made Blue Cheese Dressing was very good. The restaurant is part of a store, with interesting things to look at,... More

Such a unique restaurant and friendly staff. Love the décor of the restaurant with an actual swinging bridge. Love the buffalo farm and the food is outstanding. Headed back this wkend for a day trip and cant wait to have the cobbler with icecream. Its worth the 3 hr drive and the scenic route is beautiful. 2 THUMBS UP!

There isn't much in Paint Bank, Virginia, but there is a very nice and unique restaurant you should visit if in the area. There are also plenty of interesting buildings and grounds around it. We went there with friends for a late lunch. It had the best hot chocolate I can remember having. I wish they had coffee that good,... More

Ate there on a Sunday evening in Oct. We placed our order and when we were asked what sides we wanted. We were told they were out of salad. What? Our steaks were done medium to medium well and we both had requested Med rare. We decided to split a cobbler with ice cream , and was told they were... More

While we were camped in Virginia we had friends who lived locally that introduced us to the Swinging Bridge Restaurant in Paint Bank VA. What a great little place! You have to enter the restaurant through the general store and one of the first things you see is the swinging bridge above the dining area that connects the two sides... More
