Delicious food

I ate at this winery recently and was delighted with the whole evening. The service was friendly and efficient, the atmosphere very pleasant and the food really nicely cooked and presented. We can thoroughly recommend this vineyard restaurant. A good choice on the menu, well presented food with a couple of surprises in the dishes. The prawn entree was tasty but looked to be out of a packet rather than prepared on the premises. The main courses, however, were delicious and although we had only one shared dessert it too was... We enjoyed a lovely lunch and wine tasting at Ake Ake. This small winery has a very limited production, but their wines are available at some local restaurants. We sampled several of them in their tasting room and then sat down on the covered patio which looks out onto the small vineyard. We shared the Vineyard Platter, which was very... More

This restaurant is in the Ake Ake winery building, some tables inside and most under cover overlooking the Chambourcin vineyard. Decent sized solid polished wood tables with large comfortable wicker chairs. When I opened the menu my eyes spotted ‘Duck Fat Chips’ and I had to have them, but there were several dishes that tempted. The chips came with Fillet... More

A short distance from Kerikeri Village with children in the car we enjoyed a lovley relaxed country ambience. A smiling greeting from the Hostess and prompt wine service from the helpful waiter enhanced the family enjoyment. Food was very good - the beef and lamb dishes served encouraged the family not to leave any food uneaten - rather remarkable with... More

We had lunch here with our son, daughter-in-law and grandson the day before we returned to the UK. This is always a sad and difficult day and it was also my daughter- in -laws birthday. However, we all had a wonderful lunch and I cannot recall ever having enjoyed a loin of lamb more. We did wine tasting and could... More

Driving to the restaurant through rows of vines was pretty at sunset and the place itself looked so inviting. Staff were so helpful and although the menu isnt enormous there was a good selection. We didn't wait long for our entree. Husband had John Dorey main and l had crumbed prawns. They were both delicious and of a healthy size.... More
