We have been avoiding the Pear Tree over the past few months as our last dining experience at this restaurant wasn't the best but had heard thru the grapevine that the food and service had improved. The grapevine was right, the meal was excellent and service was great, also live back ground music was a nice touch. Overall an enjoyable... More

We wanted a really good meal and the Pear Tree did us proud. The winter menu isn't huge but the quality is great and we enjoyed every thing we ordered. The service was a little lacking however and I had to search out a waiter to order more drinks at one point which was very disappointing.

Nothing pretentious about this place, lovely location and if the weather is good you can sit outdoors. The staff are super and helpful and its very relaxed. Reasonable prices, you can just chill out.

The menu isn't vast but wholesome. The welcome and location is unbeatable. We spent an enjoyable evening here but this place is open extended hours and I believe that a day time trip would be wonderful. The setting is so quaint it's hard to fault.

We stumbled on this restaurant by taking a wrong turn and liked the look of it so much decided to stop for lunch. We are very happy that we did. A great setting and friendly staff welcomed us. The menu was varied and a good selection of wines by the glass. The cod was beautiful and fat crispy chips were... More

We had a beautiful meal at the Pear Tree. Started with bread and dips, the hummus dips were very nice but the bread was a bit too thinly cut. We saw the table next to us had ordered seafood chowder and it looked really good so decided to share a bowl. It was very good, one of the best I've... More

My husband and I stopped here for afternoon tea, the scones were divine and it was a lovely relaxing location to dine. Others were having lunch and we will go back another time for that as it looked and smelt wonderful.

Came for dinner and we both had the fish of the day which was blue fin. Was cooked very nicely. Sides were good but not great. Prices were on the high side but reasonable.

Was here a couple of years ago and it was quite good, but it's gone down hill. The food is very averidge and service is only ok. A shame on such a lovely setting.

The food here was beautiful and reasonably priced, the outdoor atmosphere is great too. The only issue-which is a real shame because everything else was perfect- is that our waitress was a bit rude.
