Nice meal, balance on some meals could be improved

We found Eleonore's not as traditional as were expecting as the dishes were quite inventive. You can tell that the chef has tried to balance all the flavours carefully in the dishes as when eating you might find one ingredient overbearing but when you put them together it makes sense. Though this... read more

With food like this, why isn't this restaurant full every night? We had the restaurant practically to ourselves - what a surprise. As a result, the service was exceptional! Right from the amuse bouche of goats curd with truffle and sprinkled with ash, which sparked the evening off, through to the pre-desert hazlenut cheesecake, followed by cardamom panna cotta with... Eleanore's is a must visit for a fine dining experience in the Yarra Valley near Melbourne. The food is excellent -the slow cooked lamb falls apart on the fork and is combined with vegetables that match perfectly. The desserts are also excellent. The lemon creme brûlée is combined with coconut, white chocolate and other delights that make each taste different... More

Our experience at Eleonores was just what we expected. The surroundings are sumptuous and beautifully set out. You are guided to your seat and have the choice of a set price two or three course menu. The food was indeed lovely, very well prepared and the flavours fresh and exciting. I would have liked a little more choice in each... More

My husband and I dined here last week and thoroughly enjoyed the evening! We opted for the degustation menu, my husband had the vegetarian version and I had the standard. We found the food to be top class, I especially enjoyed the pork and wagyu beef dishes. The service was friendly and attentive. We were a little confused after our... More

Food, service and ambience. Glass walled conservatory overlooks gardens and distant hills. Lovely menu with original touches.

When my daughter and I took a short trip to Yarra Valley, Chateau Yering and Eleonore's were on our must do list. The dinning room was beautifully decorated and set up. We had the tasting menu. Every dish was artistically presented and was delicious. Suckling pig was the winner. Other highlights include truffled butter and selection of house baked rolls.... More

My husband and I have dined here at least three times now, & I can honestly say we've never even had so much as one thing to complain about. We love that you get the exceptional service that you'd expect from a similar standard restaurant in the city, but you are seated a nice distance from other diners which keeps... More

We dined here with friends who were staying at Chateau Yering and had specifically recommended the restaurant to us. The setting was delightful, especially the drawing room for pre-dinner drinks, but the meal itself did not live up to expectations. Service was good, but somewhat rehearsed and pedestrian; one felt the staff were going through the motions, rather than having... More

I am gluten intolerant and am also pregnant. Despite choosing the chef's tasting menu (would definitely suggest going this route if you visit), the chef and staff went out of their way to make sure I could enjoy my meal without worrying about having to avoid particular foods. Evidently, food allergies are taken seriously as at at the time of... More
