Price range: $11 - $74

Description: Glass walls at the front of the outdoor area and large windows opening to the sea air capture the light and view for all diners in all weather with new modern alfresco furniture. The Penneshaw Hotel – also known as the “Penny”- has both inside and alfresco dining areas giving the hotel a relaxed casual feel. However, there's nothing casual about the excellent presentation and consistency of the food. With a superb wine list, some of the best pub food SA has to offer and competitive function options the Penny is a perfect crowd pleaser.

There isn't a whole lot of choice in Penneshaw on a week night in winter, when it comes to having dinner. I understand that it may be slightly better in summer, but coming off the ferry it is nice to know that the pub is there at the top of the hill. Given how little competition this venue has, not... The food was hearty. Pleasant atmosphere. Had to order at the bar. Would prefer table service. We were asked our opinion of the food, and we dd have a little negative comment, but the staff member didn't really want the feedback!

We were stranded on KI by extreme weather conditions and the Penneshaw Hotel was the only option for dinner. Cosy, inviting atmosphere and an impressive menu. The American River oysters were disappointing though - a shame really. My 'naturals' were plump but a bit slimy and her 'Kilpatricks' were uncooked, cold and smothered in an overly rich sauce (with uncooked... More

Admittedly the reviews we had received were luke warm but the hotel was one of the few places open at this time of the year (during low season). Service was friendly and the location has great views and overall ambience. The food was pretty ordinary - anything seafood and fried was OK but we ordered a scotch fillet steak [medium]... More

Was recommended this place, so went there for dinner. We got seafood meals which were ok - nothing great. The table next to us had to wait so long for their meals that they went up to cancel their order. After I went and paid for my dessert, it was 20 minutes later I went up to ask about it.... More

Our family ate here recently. Overpriced poor quality greasy pub food. Had a great meal here a few years ago but standards seem to have slipped. Service quite average - had to ask a couple of tines for ice creams which came with kids meals.
