My second dinner in Orange for a 3 night stay was here because they aren't open Mondays. This was an improvement over the first restaurant, but I stuck to steak and potatoes based on some of the reviews here. Started out with a Caesar salad, which was decent but they had no anchovies, so it was either out of a... More

We were looking for a restaurant that was average in price and had good atmosphere, and we were pleasantly surprised by our choice! The service was a little slow, but the industrial atmosphere was nice. It was a little difficult to hear conversation due to the room being completely open but we made due. Food was delicious! The crab dip,... More

Not much else to speak of. The fish was over-cooked. The service was slow and unprepared for "people coming in at the same time" or, as we call it, "dinner time".

I was so impressed from walking in the front door it feels very upscale. Great atmosphere. The food was amazing. We had the crab dip served in a sour dough bowl, yum. I had a salad with homemade ranch...wonderful, and Salmon with the orange glaze was cooked to perfection and served very hot. We were so delighted that we came... More

When looking for a decent restaurant in Orange on a Sunday evening you're choices are somewhat limited. Luckily, the Silk Mill Grille was open. We were promptly seated and provided a menu with an average variety of dinner entrees that would suit most hungry diners. We chose the the sirloin steak and the salmon with the Jack Daniels glaze. First,... More

Interesting place, with good menu. My one visit was enjoyable and the food was good. It is surprising to walk inside and see how big this place is! One of the biggest restaurants I have ever seen in a small town. It occupies a building that was formerly a silk mill built, I believe, by a Northern entrepreneur. Good prices,... More

A welcoming place full of vintage country character and history, this restaurant was once a parachute factory! Today, casual dining rooms with plenty of booths and tables are decorated with old wooden spools, farm equipment, and vintage posters. The menu features familiar American steak, fish, and chicken entree options, sandwiches (including bbq pulled pork), pastas, and scrumptious desserts. Their steak... More

Ate there on a Friday night. Sat outside as it was a nice night. Waitress was great. Even made a note of how I prefered my Oysters made. Reasonably priced for such good food. I will visit again.

After a week in Orange, VA, I can comfortably vote the Silk Mill Grille the best restaurant in town. Offering a full menu that specializes in steaks and seafood, eevrything I tried was excellent. Highly recommended.
